How many meals do you eat in a day?

hi :)
i've noticed when im a lil kid i used to eat i think 5 times a day (huwow! :D) includes: breaksfast, snack (between morning meal and lunch) then lunch, snack again (2-4pm) and dinner- sometimes, it takes 6 meals a day :D including midnight snack but now i can see that it was lessen and have to cut down some of them :D (i'm not getting that younger :D)
now i don't eat my breakfast instead of having a brunch- late breakfast and early lunch then snack and dinner... it's very minimal of having a midninght snack and now i eat 1/2 rice instead of 2 cups of rice in every major meal...:D
i have to choose what i eat- mostly before junked foods and all unhealthy food, but now i take and have to shift things and have a healthy balance diet and i practice this too for my lil one-my son :D

now that you mentioned it, i think that was i was a kid i used to eat lots more than i do now. lol but at the same time in thinking that way, i stayed lots more active in riding my bike or some kind of an outside activity. but all that i usually have for breakfast in the mornings is a cup of coffee. then between eleven or twelve o'clock, i am hungry and ready to eat lunch. my lunch usually consists of either some kind of a sandwich and some chips, or a bowl of cereal. sometimes i will go out to eat lunch once in a blue moon. then between six and seven o'clock in the evenings is when that my family and myself will sit down to eat dinner. then sometimes i will have a snack before bedtime. if i snack i try to snack on something like cereal or something like that instead of eating ice cream or something like that and going to bed on it. so i always eat something twice a day and then probably about two or three times a week, i will snack.

Since last year when I turn 22, I started to pay more attention to my eating habit. Usually I will eat breakfast, mid morning, lunch, afternoon tea (sometimes only), dinner and late supper :P and snack in between haha luckily Im so blessed with a very fast metabolism so no weight gain ... but nowadays I try to eat a bit more properly and healthy. I ate breakfast every morning.. toast and hot chocolate provided by my office :) and then one serving of lunch (as I am indonesian this includes rice and other menu) and then dinner... Once or twice a week when I feel like it I will have late supper (hot dog, pies, whatever.... ) but not often. When going out to chinese restaurant, instead of having about 3-4 bowls of rice, I limit myself to only 2 bowls...

I used to eat 5 meals a day and that includes: breakfast, lunch, merienda, dinner and midnight snack.. but since i've got diabetes already, i'm not allowed to eat too much most especially munching on foods with carbs, glucose, etc.. now, i eat the usual three meals a day(breakfast, lunch and dinner).. sometimes i do eat after lunch(merienda) but i only eat light snacks such as skyflakes and century tuna..=)

I won't say that I am too busy to eat but when I was a student, I used to work till 1000 hours daily on my pc because after that my dad had to do business on it. So, I had to complete all my works before 1000. So, I used to start working from early in the morning to 1000 hours. That time also My first meal was due till 1100 hrs.

I used to eat a lot when I was teenage - breakfast and snack before noon, then lunch, snacks around 3-4 again, somtimes I bought snacks again after school then dinner at home, night snacks sometimes (yes, it was very crazy:-p)
but now I only have coffee and tea in the morning, have a brunch around noon, lunch and snacks then dinner, dessert sometimes. :-)

Just like you I used to have 5 to 6 meals in a day, and that include snacks in between the main meal time of the day. But when I became a parent I just noticed that I have lessened my meal time to just 3; no more snacks in between. I think it is because of my busy schedule at home and doing errands, plus doing some earning thingy online, that I don't have much time to eat anymore. I make sure though that my diet is well balanced.

yeah i agree i've noticed that too being a mom is a busy thing but of course we have to eat in a right time (and sad to say we lapse on that :D)

One to two, on average. Every now and again I have three.
I can do "one to two" 'cause I have a tendency to nibble and snack throughout the day...though I sometimes forget.

I don't regard the snack as a meal because usually it's just a little bit portion:) I have three meals a day, they are breakfast, lunch and dinner. Occasionally my mom will make the night snacks which it can be congee. I like it very much. I still think it is better to have a normal time to have three meals. Then you will have less possibility to have the stomach. Brunch is OK but it's also mixed up the meal schedule.

I eat three meals a day excluding snacks. My family here in Manila are used to having breakfast. I can get by skipping breakfast because back in my hometown, i sleep late and so i wake up late too. Just in time for lunch. For snacks, well back home, we start at around 2 or 3pm. Here in Manila... i don't know. People here are self serviced. If you don't buy for yourself, then no one will. I miss home.

well, i think that i eat more than 3 times / day. I think that in the morning, i eat less, but i know that i should eat a lot in the morning. I know that in the evening, i should eat less, but i eat a lot! And with all of that, i`m so good. Now, i`ll try to eat less on ever meal, but i`ll do some gym too. Hope that will make me lose some weight.

I am a grazer. I might eat one or 2 meals a day, but most of the times I munch throughout the day. I usually munch on healthy stuff, nuts, plain air-popped popcorn, fruit, etc. I don't usually have much junk food when I snack, because I have no willpower when it comes to junk. Though, I definately don't deprive myself. I love junk food :o).

I think grazing is good than eating once in a day, because I think if you starve yourself there is tendency of having a bigger appetite.

due to my work which is shifting i only eat twice a day. il be waking up 10:30am be at work at 12nn til 10pm. i eat heavy at 5pm wc is my break the next would be at 10:30pm when im home so usually im still full in the morning. i skip already the breakfast part because even in my off i'l just sleep and wake up in time for lunch or snacks.

I usually end up only eating 2 meals a day with a couple snacks. I am never on time in the morning and always running behind so I rarely eat breakfest. But I usually eat lunch and then sometimes when I get home from work I will have a snack before eating dinner.

5 times a day? waw that much? lol i'm only twice or three times a day when i was a little child but now i'm eaing 3-4 times a day, breakfast, lunch, in the evening and dinner (not always) or sometimes before go to bed i eat everything but very selective to food, if i like then i eat, if it is deliciouse i will eat since i have no problem with my body weight, i don't have a problem eating junk food

We have 4 meals each day. Tea and breakfast in the morning, and Lunch in the afternoon again tea and some light snacks in the evening and dinner at night. Of course i also eat fruits and other stuff in between which makes it almost 5 meals a day . I have read that it is better to have smaller meals more number of times than have just 2 or 3 heavy meals in a day !

Hello,
you have started a really nice discussion and it has taken me back to my childhood days. :)
As a child I used to have so many meals a day, because small babies do not eat a lot at once. So, the parents have to spread the meals over to a few times in order to give the child the required nutrients.
Presently, the situation is much different. I have three meals a day, with may be a cup of milk some time in the evening. I do not feel like having 4 meals a day because of the tummy that I am getting by sitting at home and doing nothing. :D

aaah my mom has a high level of sugar too (she doesn't want to call it as diabetes LOL) you really have to watch your diet..less rice i think i always have a measuremrnt cup for my mom sometimes she violates LOL
