The best way to get more responses is to get your posts noticed. Post discussions under interests with a lot of active members. If you go to post a discussion on a topic and you notice that the last topic under that interest was posted several months ago, then chances are that interest doesn't have a lot of active members and your posts will go unnoticed. A catchy title will help draw people in. Also, making your post short, simple and to the point will help. If users have to read through several paragraphs, many of them will lose interest and not bother responding. New material is also good to post. Don't start the same discussion asking the same questions that hundreds of users before you have already done. And try to make a topic relevant to everyone. What is a topic that everyone has something to say about? Building up a network of friends on MyLot can also help get you more responses. Add interesting users to your friends list. Comment on all of their posts, and they might do the same for you! Now remember, most MyLot users HATE people who add them as friends JUST to get their own posts more attention. So if you want something (such as more responses to your posts) give them what they want! Respond to their posts. Be a good friend.

lucky you if you gain 25-30 responces, i am happy when i get atleast five responces. we can not force other people to responce if they dont feel that the discussion we started was not interesting for them. so i just feel happy when someone who take time to read and to respond. goodluck to you with mylot

Well, the number of responses you get depends on who would like to leave a comment for what you've written... It will usually vary for most discussions. I have had some discussions I started that I thought would be popular and interesting, and they only end up getting a couple responses. On the other hand, I have written some topics I thought were a bit on the boring side that received over 60 comments.

Commenting response will not increase the response number. Me too is having that kind of problem. Most of my discussions don't even reach 10 responses. maybe because the nature of my discussions are purely inquiries that when it is answered, other people will not contribute anymore to that discussion.

The best way to increase responses is to think of discussions in which everyone will want to answer. Some of these include things that are happening in the world, and news articles as well. Environmentally friendly things, and new and upcoming artists whether it be music or just plain art. Commenting to your responders help as well as responding to the commenters discussion. Many people have lowered their friends list it seems and I feel that they do this because of the combination of no discussions, bad discussions, or their friends leaving one liners to them. The key is, one liners don't get you much.
