I am having my birthday tomorrow and I had to invite several of my friends and we are having it at one of my best friend's house. I printed out twenty invites, and I knew some of them would not make it, so I figured well there would be fifteen there, not counting the children because some have toddlers and babes in arms. Anyway I wondered what do you do when there are so many people you know and so many you want to invite, who do you decide? I know that there were about four or five that I want to be there, but I do not want my friend who is having the party to be overwhelmed. I know she is a wonderful friend, is a good cook, loves to organize, etc. but I do not want to be a hog and have too many over.
I have the same problem every year, I would like to have all my friends come, but there is those decisions. So when you have a party in which you have to invite people over, do you find it hard to not include all your friends and do you feel just as upset as I do?

Here, where I come from, usually the person who has the party does the inviting. This is unique..and very nice of her. If she does not know your friends, you could ask her to give you a number limit. This is very exciting. Happy Birthday to you!

I never had that many friends so not had that problem. Could you have an after-party the next day or next week? That way you could include everyone you wanted to!

I do not know if that will work, some of them have small kids and different days off, and then everyone had the flu.

it is really a headache when you can't decide who to invite and who not.they are all you friend.Birthday is a important day for you so you want your friend to share your happiness at that moment.so don't upset with the invitation list.just invite some .and the next year invite the other part.ALL in all ,you need to be happy during your birthday.don't live up to your friends' wishes "happy birthday!"

[i]I will feel the same, I will feel sad when I cannot invite all of my friends but in the past when I was single, I always celebrate it with my family only and since my Parents' house is far from the city where I have a lot of friends, that is always an excuse not to invite them! lOL!
I don't celebrate in the apartment where I was renting before, sometimes friends will come over and bring food for the group!
