There is a case expecting final judgement, relating with engineering parts installed on her computer after service. I am just curious how much would you ask for compensation. Your input is appreciated.

Although I hesitate to do so, I think I need to remind you that not all of us are all that much into computers. We need definitions and explanations. What are engineering parts? What would they do to a computer? Why would it be a problem? I'd really like to know, because not knowing makes me feel as if there's a huge hole in my education!

Thankns for the explanation. I felt so lost in cyberspace, and when I asked a couple of people I thought would know, they had no idea.

I was told engineering parts are used only for testing purposes, they should not replace orignial service parts when doing service, repair, overhaul, etc. Replacing if any is considered cheating in whatever industries. That is all i know.

Hello my friend zhuhuifen46 ji, It is a serious Privacy assult. I think it might have been done by casul attitude by concern worker. I fact college labs and other organisation may be provided such facility under existing norms. First, we have to find out, how it happened. In fact, I got my same job done at different places by different agencies, but one thing was common, that I never left my desk-top/lap-top, out of my sight. All work was done in front of me, after going through, what is being loaded. For more information, please visit: http://www.egr.msu.edu/decs/services/hardware/installation "•Windows/UNIX lab computers managed exclusively by DECS ?This option applies to the systems in the Engineering public labs as well as department labs and offices. ?The operating system is installed by DECS. ?All software updates are automated and completed remotely. ?All installed software and operating system configuration is consistent in each lab. ?Local Administrator accounts are not provided. ?Automated logouts take place after the preset idle time is reached. This time is 15 minutes" May God bless you and have a great time.

Well, just depending on what sort of engineering parts were installed on my computer, I'd try to figure out what they were for and if they caused any damages, If they were not harmfull I would delete them and go about my way. Now if they were harmfull and did indeed cause damages, I would then hire a comp. tech and a lawyer and go through the rings before I made any foolish demands. But perhaps it was just sofwares for programing of the computer, which it sounds like, hence the word service in the post. Maybe a Tech forgot the parts and then the owner found them and tried to do something with the partslike "fixing" it yourself or to alter a program, then its all their own fault and have no legal ground to stand on.
