Have you ever noticed the mylot yawn smiley? If not please do look at this minutely. This is so amusing to look at the frustration of it. I feel this very refreshing as I have first hand experience being in similar situation when and where you are forced by your own dignity to keep your eyes open despite having an irresistible urge to go for a horse sleep. This happens specially in the post lunch session during a Refresher's course in the university. As the Resource Person enters the hall and starts his terrifying lecture, you let a yawn out and feel your eyes slowly closing and as the person is all speech you get alert and try to come to your self but in vein. Again the unruly eyes start narrowing. Oh! if it were I would pay 100 dollar if had been allowed to sleep a while.
But that is not to happen and you are the frustrated one looking time and again at the clock and feel the clock is moving too slow and still half an hour is left.
Looking at the smiley I impersonate some body there in a predicament like that of mine and feel fresh myself.
Have you ever been in such situation? If so what do you do?
Rajib.

Hi krajibg! I have been in group lectures and had that feeling
come over me many times! And it is horrible! I could feel my
eyes getting heavy and closing and I was fighting to keep them
open! That is such a terrible feeling! All I wanted to do was
sleep right then and there! I only wished that I was home in
my bed at that moment! And yes, I would watch the clock and
I could hear it tick and it would take forever for the hands
to move! I was so scared that I would fall into a deep sleep
and fall out of my chair! Of course, that never happened! But,
I do remember the feeling! It used to happen to me alot!

Oh yes, lots of times I've been so bored I had trouble staying awake. You would think that the person subjecting us to this torture would notice all the poor people struggling to stay awake and make their presentation more lively. If only we could have a book that was that boring that we could take to bed when we couldn't sleep!

My husband fell asleep at a sales meeting. The lecture was apparently very boring. The managing director instructed him to wake up and he used the microphone to make the announcement of course! When my husband opened his eyes the whole room was looking at him and laughing! It must have been very funny; I wish I had been there to see it!
