The Chinese and Japanese drink hot tea with their meals, not cold water, maybe it is time we adopt their drinking habit while eating.
It is nice to have a cup of cold drink after a meal.. However, the cold water will solidify the oily stuff that you have just consumed. It will slow down the digestion. Once this 'sludge' reacts with the acid, it will break down and be absorbed by the intestine faster than the solid food. It will line the intestine. Very soon, this will turn into fats and lead to cancer. It is best to drink hot soup or warm water after a meal.
seriously,is it true? what do you think? please tell.

Yeah, it's right.. It's always better it be drinking hot tea or hot beverages along with their meal, as compared to drinking of cold water ^_^ I dunno what is the actual reason behind it, but i read it somewhere and it's stated so too..
I guess it's a fact and that there are indeed alot of chinese or elderly whom are always drinking chinese tea, and for jap, they are always drinking green tea ^_^ hehe

though I had read article about this before I still want to say thank you for your valuable information here, as this reminds me again not to take cold drinks after having meal.
Really it’s nice to have cold drink to quench our thirst after having meal during hot days. The weather in my country is hot all the year round. That’s why people here especially kids and teens prefer to take iced beverage after having food. Their dislike hot soup or hot tea while having meals.
My kid’s friends always tease him and saying that he is an elderly guy. They consider that only elder people enjoy having hot drink. My kid tells them about the advantages of taking hot drink while or after having meals they still ignore his saying and keep on enjoy their cold beverage
Happy posting and have a nice day.

I think this is true. If one is fond of eating oil food this could really cause problem. I have one friend whose husband suffered one time deadly stroke just by eating "bulalo" or beef ribs and bone marrow in soup with cabbage. Oh this dish is really good and very popular here but so fatty. Her husband came all the way from his working stint abroad and so they have friends who came in their house to party. It seems the hubby has eaten lots of "bulalo" and enjoyed its soup a lot. That night he did not wake up anymore.
I still am drinking water after meal but I think I have nothing to worry because I feast on veggies and fruits and not on fatty foods.

Well, the fact that water will congeal the fat in the foor is probably up for arguement. However, if this is possible then I'd give up drinking cold water with any greasy meal. Food for thought.

The main thing to avoid a heart attack is this simple = get good genes.....
The main risk is in your genes and stress are also a big factor.
Lately two of my "friends" have had heart attacks - both in their 30's - both of them eat fairly okay, they both exersice way more than avarage (3-4 times a week), none of them smokes or are over weight either - but still....
The main reasons are like I wrote bad genes and a lot of stress.

xialinye,
I feel that drinking tea is just one of the measures taken to prevent heart diseases, however, it would not be practical for those who do not or dislike drinking tea.
In all fairness, I feel that in order to avoid such an ailment, one should observe healthy lifestyle where we moderate our food intake, recreation and sufficient rest. Poor food intake habit, I feel is the main catalyst for all these heart attacks, hypertension, strokes and major illnesses. Most of the time we find individuals who have a craving for fatty, oily and high salted foods without bothering to have enough greens and fruits to be in trouble with these ailments. So, we can see them literally eating away their life here.
Then, there is another factor heavy smoking. I think everyone is aware just how this habit can actually kill and worst kill another person close by - passive smoker. Smoking has been related not only to heart diseases but to other grave ones as well.
Last but not least, a stressful lifestyle. There is just so much one can do and take. So, amidst of our work and recreation, I feel it would be important to make time and put in sufficient time for rest. So that our bodies could recuperate and prepare for another day. So, I feel that the most important and basic step to take here would be to observe the habits of a balanced and healthy lifestyle.
Cheers.

There are two good reasons everybody should know the most basic information about heart attacks. First, odds are very high that either you or someone you love will suffer from a heart attack during your lifetime. And second, whether you (or your loved one) survive that heart attack may depend on what you – and your doctors – do during the first few hours.
heart attack reasons are : Obesity ,Sedentary lifestyle ,Smoking ,Hypertension ,High total cholesterol, and/or reduced HDL cholesterol ,Diabetes ,Metabolic syndrome ,Increased C-reactive protein (CRP) ,Use of birth control pills, especially if also a smoker ,Complicated pregancy (hypertension, diabetes, low birth weight)
Losing control of your cholesterol. Eating saturated fats, especially trans saturated fats, consuming too many calories, and eating foods that are not rich in nutrients can cause your cholesterol to go up, which can make you much more likely to have a heart attack in time.
Get stressed out. Getting stressed out raises your blood pressure, and leads to heart disease and heart attacks.
Lose control of your blood pressure. When you have a high blood pressure, the heart tend to work harder to push blood through, which makes the heart enlarged, and eventually lead to a serious heart attack.
take warm water only before food. and take soup in the begining of the food.
