I am curious on what items you pack in a carry on. I go on alot of cruises and you can have three bags per person and then your carry on. I carry on things such as money, medicine, jewlery and then of course some clothes because im always worried that my luggage would get lost and then i dont have anything and that would be awfull. So what items do you put in your carry on?

I pack in my carry on bag the things that I think are important. I put there my money, identification cards, credit cards and medicines.

I used to travel a lot too and basically I can say I got used to packing. I don't bring much with me in my carry on. Just my anti-allergy tablet, a brush, face powder, a set of undies and a small bottle of hand sanitizer. With long trips I would bring a set of clothes. If possible I would just want a shoulder bag or purse to bring along necessities like a wallet, cellphone, hand sanitizer and my organizer.

I suggest you wearing a money belt with cash, your passport, travel insurance details and any cards you have. Then it your hand luggage you might like to pack a few lightweight snacks. The sort of foods I decide on are rice cakes, fruit bars and nuts. If you are traveling by plane security won't let through bottles of water and other drinks. All liquids when flying have to be less than 100 ml in a transparent plastic bag. You might want to pack in your hand luggage valuables like jewelry and your camera. You might want a travel pillow and blanket on a coach overnight. I take my contact lenses and a small mirror. An outfit in your hand luggage is useful but sometimes clothes are cheap abroad.

I always carry currency and bank cards in my carry on. I try to avoid expensive jewelry while travelling, because it could be a great responsibility to keep them safe. I have a small digital camera which I never forget to take. And, yes some clothes for emergency, and toilet paper too.

I always pack a book or two, sometimes a blank journal in case the mood strikes to write about my adventures. I also pack puzzle books, like logic problems. I love those. Now and then I'll throw in a little handheld electronic game. Then I have the usual stuff like my iPod and discman, CD's, purse (I always carry a small purse and don't always use it when traveling), medicine, and any travel information I need, such as hotel confirmation. I basically go with things that will keep me entertained if I'm not watching what's on the plane or asleep. The only time I've carried clothes with me is when I went to France on a school trip. They insisted we pack an extra set of clothes because someone in one of the years before lost their luggage. I hated it because it took up too much room. That was the first and last time I did that.
