Do any of you read her books? And if so, what is your favorite, and also your favorite character. Personally I love the Velvet series, and my favorite is Velvet Song, I love singing. I also wanted to name my baby Raine Montgomery. But my husband won't hear of it. I love this author, I think she's amazing, and has wonderful story lines. Tell me what you think?

I also recommend Whitney My Love and the books that follow that title, it's also a series but unlike velvet, it has different titles but characters are kinda the same. It was one of my first reads from Jude Deveraux and that's where I started to get hooked. If you're into tingly romances, courtship, adventures and humor, that book and series is for you.

Hi,
If you are going to start with the Velvet series, start with Velvet Promise, then Highland Velvet, Velvet Song, then Velvet Angel. It follows four brothers, from the oldest on, and they bring back characters that are in the first books. Wonderful books!

I love her too! I have a collection of most of her novels. I havent read Velver Song, but among the Velvet series the one I have here is Velvet Angel. My favorite is An Angel for Emily and Counterfeit Lady. Among the one's I have are Eternity, High Tide, Holly, Remembrance, A Knight in Shining Armor, The Invitations, The Princess, Conquest, Forever, First Impressions, Mountain Laurel and a few other. I love going to thrift stores and hunt for Jude Deveraux paperback & hard covers. I usually get them for just a quarter of a dollar per piece! I like the way she tells the story! and oh, Im a big fans of the Montgomery's! BTW Raine Montgomery is a nice name!

What's the deal with Raine Montgomery - got a synopsos? I used to read Jude, but have been out of the reading loop for a few years... what are the themes/plots of some of these? I dont' like thrillers or murders or crimes etc. I love time travel to the past or just 'believeable" romance.

If you like time travel, my favorite is Remembrance. That one is hard to explain, but if you are looking for a really good time travel, pick that one. The Raine Montgomery I'm talking about is in Velvet Song. Again, another one you would have to read. I have to leave right now for an appointment, but I'll try and get back on later and give you an idea what it's about. It's historical, do you like those?

I also like Jude Deveraux's line of romance pocketbooks. I am a fanatic up until I get married, I think I bought most of the books in the shelf at that time. When I got married, I was forced to stop buying pocketbooks and concentrate on buying more of our immediate needs *sad face*, so I am kinda out of sync with the romance world and Jude Deveraux. As I browsed through this discussion, I saw a lot of titles that I am familiar with but I just can't remember the story behind those titles anymore. I thin I need to review a little.

I know Jude Deveraux and I've read some of her books. Actually, I have the book Velvet Song. I read it a long time ago, I forgot the story. I've read a lot of romance novels that I sort of mixd up the stories. But, she's a good author though, I wouldn't buy the book if I don't like it.

Knight in Shining Armor was my first Jude Deveraux book. After reading that it got me hooked! I was always trying to find new JD novels to read. I love her stories. I agree with you that she has wonderful story lines.
Other authors I like are Johanna Lindsay, Julie Garwood, Nora Roberts and a whole bunch more.

I love her stories - but due eto an eye problem had to stop reading and haven't gotten back into it. Fern Michaels is another wonderful author. I read Legends by Jude D. and loved that story... I enjoy the time travel into the past plots which Legends was. I have been looking anc can'tfind her books lately tho,...
Can you give your favorites and a brief "back of the book" recap of them? I'dlike to get started reading again.
