Just wondering if any of you can tell the difference between milk depending on which animal it has come from (assuming you have had a chance to taste milk from different sources) I once had buffalo milk, it was extremely rich and creamy

Cow & goat milk do have a noticeably different flavor. I've never had the luxury of buffalo milk yet.

Wow camel milk I wonder... I had never thought of having camel milk before but then I guess most people have not really considered drinking buffalo milk either. Do you know if that's normal then? To drink camel milk for people that live in Dubai?

I see, I guess there is a greater population of camels in that part of the world. I bet camel milk makes fantastic cheese!

I have had goat milk and didn't like it, it tastes funny. I'm not very adventurous when it comes to food and I certainly wouldn't want to try to milk a buffalo!

Lol, well luckily I didn't have to milk the buffalo myself in order to taste it's milk!! I don't think I'd have been brave enough either!!

They so did! Had they have told me before-hand I probably would have declined as I hadn't heard of anyone consuming buffalo milk before then!

I only got to try buffalo milk a few years ago when on holiday. I didn't even realise I was about to taste it until after I'd had a sip! I remember having a bit and saying 'that's different!' Then I was told where it came from!

I think there is difference between the milk of cow, buffaloe and goat infact. the milk which cow gives is lighter and not with much creame into it, its a bit less fat and calories, as compared to that of buffaloe and goat ,the milk of buffaloe and goat is very thicker and has a lot of cream. infact milk of goat has a lot of cream and it is very thick

Yes I agree, cow's milk is definitely the lightest out of all of them. Buffalo milk is the thickest and the best for I reckon.

I use soya milk at the moment as I've been advised to avoid dairy products. Soya milk is really sweet and not creamy. I prefer goat's milk but it is probably an aquired taste as it's a lot stronger kinda musky taste to it, it's hard to describe. I'd like to try sheep's milk as I love sheep milk cheese and yoghurt.

Buffalo milk, huh? Chuck full of vitamins and good stuff. More people should be drinking this stuff. Utilizing what we have and reaping the benefits of same. I think some day we will be sorry if we don't.

You are right. Milk is of such high nutritious quality - I wish I'd listened to my mum when I was a bit younger and she'd be trying to convince me how important it was to drink at least a glass a day...

well I got a chance to try milk from all the three animals but I must addmit as per i know goat milk is richest in minerals but it tastes a bit bitter than cows,well without a doubt milk cow is far more heavy and cream in it.on other hand cow milk is light and easy to digest i guess thats why doctors suggest cow milk for new born baby's

you are welcome,I dont know but as per I heard ,goat milk got higher proportion of sodium than compared of two.
@UK_Shree (3603)

That must be the reason for the high salt content as sodium is a part of salt (sodium chloride). In that case we should all be careful not to consume too many dairy products which originate from goats as we might consume too much salt without meaning to.

Thanks for posting the response. I didn't actually know that goat milk was the richest in nutritional terms. I have heard that goat milk is higher in salt. Any idea if this is true or not?

I think I will stick with milk from cows. I do not think I would like milk from a goat. Also milke from a buffalo to me would just be too different and weird.
