Or more so do you KNOW that its bad. I dont think there is a single person that does not know this so my question is why do people still get away with suing tobaco companies. So they got cancer from smoking and say I had no idea it was that bad. How could you not know it? I am as of 6 months ago a ex smoker and knew the risk of smoking and chose to smoke anyway. At this point in my life I dont think its worth a risk to smoke in my case so I dont. To me smoking is like most things in life you take a chance and hope for the best.

everyone knows smoking is bad. its taught i our schools. theyve established programs such as d.a.r.e and so on to aware us of the dangers of smoking. but its a persons choice. No one forces you to smoke...no amount of peer pressure is force. so people suing are idiots. but its a decision in life that one has to make. its not good for you but who are we to judge others decisions.

Smoking is too bad, not only to himself, but to others around him.
However ,sometimes when some persons need to make their decisions ,they must smoke.
My father is one of them. Everyday ,he is always smoking so that his fingers look a
a little yellow. His smoking makes all of my family cough and angry. Now ,we are
good at holding our breath.
So please all smokers in the world give up the badest habit for their parents and
children.

Yeah but i suppose that is their life choice and in many cases the more you tell them not to, the more they do it.
I am a non-smoker and it revolts me the pictures you see of peoples black lungs, in my case this is enough to make me never try smoking.

Yes I do. I don't have to try it to know that it is bad. There are so many literature that discusses this. Besides I've been hospitalized before because of second-hand smoking. My father was a smoker and when he learned that I got sick because of this, he quit right away. No one has to force him or anything. He just decided to stop it. He didn't even do it slowly. Although, I remember that few weeks or months after, he had to have candies with him all the time.

I believe smoking is bad, and I don't see how people can do it, how can you breath all that smoke into your body, and not know it can't be good for you? There are alot of things that we do that's not good for us, not only smoking, but what we eat isn't good for us most of the time, like you said, we take a chance and hope for the best.

This question could have been asked to the guy that lost his legs from the train. He was out drinking his butt off and fell onto the tracks because he lost his balance because he was drunk. He sued and won a lot of money, about 2 million. So it's not just people that smoke that sues. Neither one is right, but in life, everyone takes chances each day. We shouldn't sue over things that we could have prevented.

I was wrong, he only lost one of his legs. He fell onto a subway track in New York. I think he sued the city of New York, and a Manhattan jury awarded him 2.3 million saying the driver of the train had plenty of time to slow down. I think if your out drinking, don't go stumbling towards the tracks. I don't know if he was alone or not, I'm guessing no, because a true friend or if anyone was around would tried to get his drunk butt off the tracks.

Smoking is bad, people know it's bad but people keep on starting to smoke while others don't even try to stop smoking. Of course it's an option, if you want to smoke no one can stop you, and if you only harm yourself that's your problem.
The problem is when you throw your smoke to other people that don't want to smoke but are obliged to do it just because you smoke. That's what I hate about smokers, they can harm themselves but they have no right to harm others. It's a question of respecting others.
People are sometimes selfish, just think that some pregnant women don't stop smoking while pregnant, or the father keeps on smoking while his wife is pregnant. That's just being selfish and harming a baby just because they can't or don't want to stop smoking. For me those people are being really stupid.
I believe there is always an option. People can say 'I don't want to smoke anymore', they know smoking is bad, the problem is that sometimes they only stop when it's already too late.

YES...yes! I know, but I do it! Congratulations...truly sincere congratulations for ceasing & desisting...you are one powerful person! I am ashamed that I cannot take control of my life in that manner! I know all the risks, at even more so at my age! Why do I continue....honestly I truly, truly enjoy smoking in many situations......and it seems to be a destresser for me! Probably all in my head, but that's the way it is!

The problem with smoking is that it is not just bad and unhealthy for the one smoking but for those around them. And it isn't just second hand smoke but third hand especially for infants and children. Studies have found very bad and harmful chemicals left in clothing, furniture, pillows, etc. that can harm children and especially infants. So even if a smoker doesn't smoke aroung their kids or infants, just their clothes being around them, such as holding a baby with the same clothes that were worn while smoking, can do harm.

Smoking is absolutely bad for the health. In fact government has a warning to smokers that it is really dangerous to everybody's health. I don't know also why people, despite of warnings and bad symptoms of smoking, they still resort to that habit. I hate smokers in fact I stay away to someone who really smoke. Second-hand smoke (smoke we get from smokers)can be fatal.

smoking is not bad. smoking occassionally is what i appreciate. but when it comes to smoking daily, i think smokin once a day is okay. but smoking more than 2 cigys is very bad. creates a hell lot of health problems for you and for the people around you. your lips also tend to get dark and lose the red colour if you smoke regularly.

It makes no difference when it comes to risk if you smoke 1 or 10 a day you still have a higher risk then if you dont smoke at all.

Yes smoking is bad for the body.It does not affect the smokers health but it affects other people around him.If a person smokes he can get lung diseases. Also his life span is reducing very fast.Later if the person tries to quit smoking he cannot. He also coughs for a long time to get rid of the addiction.

I know it's unhealthy and dangerous but I continue to smoke. I haven't gotten to the point where I can quit. I have tried numerous times and have only been able to last a few days. I want to quit badly because I don't want to end up with emphazema and/or lung cancer. I know people who have both and I don't want to end up like that. I am actually going to speak to my doctor getting something to aide me in quitting, over the counter stuff has never worker for me.

Anything and almost everything is unhealthy and injurious in todays world. We just blame things which we saw or heard others blaming them.Just that we have seen the add and all.But the instant food, Fruit jucies, Adulterated food stuffs are also equally harmful.Pizaas, cheese etc too.Its just it depends on how much we intake, whats the quantity we are eating or drinking or smoking. If you are aware of the over effects of things and control on them then they are not harmful in greater extent. After all its only upon us to see what is good for us and what's not.Smoking is ofcourse unhealthy but ther is no question of bann on it or something its just a normal need of todays world just like a harmfull cheesy, beaf stuffed pizza everyday right?
