they are having a hard time coming up w/a girl name w/a special meaning. Any ideas? If not, what are your favorite unique baby names? Or what are the worst names you've ever seen?

I went through a baby book for months going back and forth with my daughter's father on what to pick. I must say its one of the hardest decisions I've had to make. Though my daughters first name is nothing special, her middle name is Lynee (Lyn-A) named after her grandmothers. My mothers middle name is Lynn and My mother in law's name is Renee. They are two very important people in our lives so we felt that by using both names together we honor them both. One thing I think many should keep in mind is not to name their child something too trendy. Yes, you want something unique but at the same time not something completely off the wall When they get older they may hate their name and wonder what you were thinking. Something I myself am afraid of, but she has many years before she can speak her mind! =] Best of wishes to your friend!!!

That's a beautiful name especially b/c it's a combo. of both g-ma's names. That's pretty neat how you made it work. Unfortunately when I had my son, both g-pa and great g-pa had really bad names...so I couldn't make mine work. LOL....Thanks for your response, I'll make that suggestion!

I like to look at the meaning of a name as well as the name. I could not settle on a name and then three days before our daughter was born (I thought I was having a boy), my husband had a dream that we had a daughter and her name. I loved the name he told me but was still sure I was going to have a boy. When she was born I was so happy because her name means "beloved gift of God." That fit her perfectly because we waited 6 years to have her.
Whenever I say her name I am reminded that God gave her to us.

Naming a baby is not an easy thing to do, when my sister get pregnant, we look for a certain name that no one has like a combination of name of the parents, though this you can be sure that the baby's name is very unique and one of a kind. Or you can name the baby after a person that is very important to your life so that you will always remember that person forever.

I think that every name has a special meaning to it. My daughters name is Constance. Back in the day alot of woman were named Constance but recently not many people named their babies that. My biggest thing with coming up with a baby name is not the meaning but the fact that not every other person has that same name!!
