Today is the start of Lent. I went to church and was glad that I did because I have learned so much about warfare but that is a discussion by itself. During lent in my country persons tends to stop eat meat and only eat fish. Then on the actual day Bun and Cheese or fish is being eaten. Some religion will re-enacted the crucifixion on Palm Sunday. But to me Lent is more than all that. The symbolization of Lent to me is that Satan was proven to be a Liar. The death of Christ give me hope of having a new life after death. Knowing that when I died in Christ I can be in heaven when that Great day arrive. During the rest of the year we will pray and fast but do we ever consider what Jesus has done for us. Fasting for 40 days and night and using the word of God to the devil. Do we has Christians when problems come our way we follow this practice that Jesus as taught us. I want to encourage you my friends during this Lent Season not just look at what you can give up but look at the ways that Jesus Christ our Lord used to prove to the devil that his kingdom is nothing but naught. Follow his example as David says Thy Word is a Lamp Until My Feet and a Light until my Path. Have a Holy and Fulfil Lent Season. Kerry

I agree about Christ and Christianity, I agree with you and appreciate your very beautiful words of profound truth. I am not Catholic, and Lent is wonderful evenmoreso because i love fish being from a coastal region! Christ is the true, real, and worthy love of my life! What more can we ask for? Nothing, because when Christ came into our life we are made whole by the grace of God through Christ the everlasting and loving, faithfulto God shepherd! God Bless you ALL! Unity P.S. The first basic structures of life or legitimate and are perfect, long before anything called and termed as so-called "natural selection" by arwin, but Darwin did mention his theories were unproven scientifically, only the rest of the world that were unbelievers used hisstudies in a manner inconsistent with his own true space for miscalculation as to the origins of life. For we can now see the basic elements of life were and are perfect already, only basic adaptable changes occurred and occur by Gods plan of perfect design! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flagellum Christian Wikipedia source: http://creationwiki..org/Flagellum

Nice reflection you have in there. I am glad that the start of Lent has some meaning in you. For some working people it is just hard to stop and reflect for one moment and think like what you do. I am thankful that you opened this topic to be awakened by what this season is all about.

Hello rsa, God should be given the glory for this discussion. He was the one who placed it on my heart. I know that as employees we tends to be caught up in the daily trails of our life but just a minute out of our busy schedule God want from us. Just to say Thank You Jesus for being here. At church today I learned that we should take out loud because the devil cannot read our minds. I am encouraging you my friend just to talk with your God because that is what he asking for. Just a word or two. Take care. Kerry

As a kid, Lent was a big deal. We gave up meats but we didn't eat that much fish because I cannot stomach fish. I do not give up meats for anything these days, as I need all the fatty things I can get just to stay the weight that I am. God should not have made me so darned skinny The Lutheran church does the re-enactment of the Crucifixion for Easter, and it is a beautiful service

lent is the season churches reflect on the past, for Christians it's should be a celebration because the enemy was trampled down and Christ was lifted up. regarding eating meat, well it was a tradition passed a long time ago. anybody can choose what to eat except for those God has forbidden as not to. you can even eat without meat if you like not just during the lenten season same with fish. for me i eat what i want during that time unless you pledged to fast.
