bang down the receiver

i get so irritated if there's someone in the office who bangs down the receiver after every call. for me that person is rude, impatient and uneducated. or does a person just have a heavy hand that she bangs down the receiver after every call? what do you think? is it just me or is it really impolite to bang down the receiver? and you are not even angry at the person on the other line, yet you still bang down the receiver

It's impolite and totally unnecessary. I think that person just has a poor phone etiquette or office etiquette. I don't think it's because the person has heavy hands, I wouldn't believe that. Perhaps I would believe he/she has a heavy hand if she/he'd do that to something valuable and something he/she owns (cellphones, personal stuff, expensive properties).
The next time he/she does that, why don't you tell him/her to bang it a little bit more so that sooner or later the phone needs to be replaced due to damages. Do that jokingly so that he/she would get it.

i think that maybe some people just don't realize they are doing it. just like loud people. they may not realize just how loud they are until someone tells them. so if this lady is hanging they phone up so loud, maybe you should just say something. don't fight about it or anything. just let them know how loud it is

im not really the kind of person who goes up and say "hey, you hang the phone up so loud", but thanks for the advice though. you have a point. she may not realize it that she hangs up the phone too loudly. thanks! =)
