Red ants too much!! how to control?

I hate summers as this time lots of red ants will be seen at home,yesterday was worse I saw the ant in containers where I kept the wheat flour and cashewnuts some of the cashew has been eaten up don't know how I will solve this problem.So can anyone give some tips to control it!!

hello. i think the best way is to get lakshmanrekha. if you are in india , you can get it in stores easily. it is used for killing cockroaches. it's achalk . you just have to draw it around the container or the shelf in which the contaier is kept. it works really good for ants. i have been using it from 3 or 4 years.
and if you still have ants inside the cashew. keep the cashew out in the sum for 20 minutes. the ants will run out of the container cause of the heat. it would be better if you keep it in a steel plate whne you keep it out in the sun.

I don’t think vinegar works….I have emptied almost a bottle of it down the antholes and yet they come back after a few days. There are tiny, miniscule holes on the joint between the kitchen wall and kitchen table and they ooze out from there in all their strength. Summer is their favourite time and a bane for me. I think I will use the putty this time…it’s a good idea. But I think they are so resilient they will make another hole and come out of it.
