What you suggest for investors in this recession period

What would you suggest to the investors in this current recessions period.I am future investor i hope for myself.I can predict something atleast be it not that good.but my capabilities to become a investor can be possibly achieved .Please suggest what an investor should do if he/she is beginning a career in investments and that too in this period of time when recession is on the urge to close down everything.Time is ofcourse not good, but if we make it worse by our thinking it wont come out of it.I can say purchase shares which are now at the cheapest costs.Prediciting they will go higher in a certain period of time.Sell your gold withing a weeks time more as the prices are plunging.But do not sell everything, sell in ratio of 3:1 like 3 should be wid u and sell out 1 part.I learn one thing Never invest out more than you can save with you.Why to invite a ready grave when you know you can be alive also. Please post any good suggestions if you can give here which can be helpfull of me as well as other friends of ours here.Thanks
