Does one break after losing a job? Have you ever lost a job?

I wonder how people take losing a job. I have been rather fortunate to be in a government job which is secure and well paying. Though i am due to retire later this year, i will still get a retirement pension. I wonder how most people who work in the private sector Do people break or they fight back and survive? Any survivors here who really fought back and made it good?

I've lost so many jobs that I can't even remember them all. Some were 'nothing' jobs like bar work and so on, which for me was just temporary, but others were really good ones. I think we all react differently.
My partner, for example, gets REALLY upset if she loses a job. I mean, reeeeaaaaally upset. Angry, vindictive, tearful, the whole works. That's just how she is with it.
Me? I just say "Oh well" and move on. These things happen. I'll survive. As long as I have a roof over my head and some food to eat, it doesn't matter. I'll just find another job.
