I have noticed that some people seldom eat vegetables .I happened to go to a relatives house where they invited me to stay for lunch. The meal consisted of Chicken, fried fish, and egg curry, and some Tomatoe rasm with rice but absolutely no vegetables not even a salad. As we got talking I was told that none of the children nor the adults were fond of vegetables and other than potatoes they hardly cook any vegetables at home.
I found the meal incomplete without vegetables as i am used to having at least 2-3 vegetables at each meal. I feel that it is not at all healthy to stuff yourself with only meat..
How about you friends? what do you think? Isn't it essential to have veggies for every meal ?plz come forward with your views ..

I try to eat vegetables as often as I can. Sometimes 3 times a day but most of the time only with dinner. But when I have my veggies at dinner I eat a huge plate of veggies. Vegetables are so good for people and we should eat more.

Hi , thanks for your response , I agree with you. I too love veggies and cannot do without them at any meal. In fact all my meals are planned around vegetables with rice and rotis remaining constant lol..I too feel that one should actually cut down on meats and eat more fish and plenty of vegetables and fruits..

Hey diansinta, thanks a lot for your views !your life sounds tough. Do you work or something? Is it not possible for you to live independently? or are you financially dependent on your brothers. You know our life is in our hands. We need to look out at all options and try and change it to make it better for ourselves. I wish you luck in everything and hope that your life changes for the better ..

You have a point to make. Consuming vegetables are very essential for our bodies and those who only eat non-vegetarian food items remain deprived of some of the nutrients which they can have only through vegetables. Potatoes are not sufficient alone. Green and leafy vegetables are very essential and I make sure that we eat green vegetables at least three-four times a week. I prefer to have spinach, Maithi, French beans, Capsicum and other such vegetables. We cook the beans etc. along with potatoes so that kids could consume it.

I have not ever tasted a dish made of Cauliflowernder green leaves. I see leaves of Cauliflower are removed here by the vegetable sellers, before passing on the same to the consumer. I hope that consuming green vegetables makes you and your family healthy.

Hi dpk, we make a dish called Tambuli with Cauliflower leaves, where the leaves are parboiled and coarsely ground with green chillies, jeera and coconut. Finally some curd is mixed into this, lovely to have with rice.I also chop the leaves and add it to dhal and other curries instead of throwing it away ..

Exactly my feelings ! In fact I love vegetables so much that i dont need any other reason to eat vegetables. I too am very fond of Green leafy vegetables especially radish and its tender green leaves. I dont throw away even the cauliflower leaves, I make a dish called 'Thambuli' out of those leaves. It is the same with my family, everyone loves vegetables, salads and sprouts..

Hi Jouhar, thanks for expressing your views ! I too like to eat vegetables with every single meal . I am sure it is very healthy to eat plenty of vegetables. I too hate wasting food. I never cook in large quantities, and, even if I do, I freeze the extra food and reuse it

Yes, that is right. But one can any amount of green leafy vegetables without it having any adverse effect on your health. In fact the more vegetables you eat the better your hair and skin feels, at least that is what i have always felt. Water, vegetables and milk are a must in your diet everyday...my mom keeps on telling me even today lest i forget
