For parents who's children are fairly grown up...

I am wondering...Did your child and a kid do diffrent things like have a really big intrerst in marine life or animals period. or act out every movie and stuff every chance they got??..
From doing this as a child and growing up.. did any of them persue a carreer in anything they liked as a child?...
My daughter is 4 years old... she LOVES marine life her favorite animal is a shark. but she likes sting rays almost as much..
She also, actus out everything.. and i mean every show or commercial that comes on. she is acting them out. it only takes her like one or to times seeing the commercial and she has it memorized....
I wonder, is she ganna grow up and want to be in drama class and want to persue a career in acting. or will she grow up wanting to have a career that involves studying or training animals from the sea..... she is so actuve in both things.

My middle child (and oldest daughter) is one that can hear a song on the radio once or twice and suddently has the song memorized! She loves to sing and dance and was a cheerleader in high school. She is the drama queen! She did some theater in high school as well.
I think some children's interests change as they get older. I know our youngest's did. She was a tomboy as a little girl. Didn't like to dress up, played ball and would rather get out and rough and tumble with the boys than play dress up.
Then as she began to hit the teenaged years, some of the 'girlie girl" began to come out. She still loved to play ball, but she could come off the softball field and dress up with the best of them.
Now, she's almsot 19 years old. She's a college cheerleader and absolutely gorgeous!
My best advice is to just let them pursue whatever holds their interests and see what's out there. You might be surprised where it leads them!

Thank you for responding to this discussion:).... Thats pretty cool to hear how they change intrests as they grow up.... Hahaha Im praying my daughter is into chearleading or gymnastics. Were my favprite sports growing up and i could truley enjoy going to every competition or football game or basketball game to watch her..

This is true! You mention like gymnastics and cheerleading growing up. I learned to like soccer though I still don't understand it well! All this because my children wanted to play like everyone else! LOL
