Mixed emotions after vacation!

I'm home from my vacation visiting my daughter and grandson and I have so many mixed emotions. I was so happy being in Long Beach with them but of course I missed my hubby and family that are here. Now I'm home and it feels like that two weeks was a day! Between spending time with my daughter and site seeing we kept very busy and enjoyed being together. Now I'm home and missing them something awful. Hopefully I will see my daughter again in October when my son gets married but for now I'm missing her. What's it like for you after visiting family in another state or country? Don't you feel torn between being with them and being home?

Yes, me too - I always feel torn between my two families, every week. As my parents are divorced, I visit my father for one or two nights every week. He has a new family now, adorable little baby... And I miss my mother when I am with him and I miss them when I am home with my mom. But... guess I learned to overcome that feeling, don't pay attention and it will go away. It is much more difficult when we were on vacation, though.

I believe that when it's something like parents divorcing and you having to visit one or the other that is soooo much harder.

I feel the same way when I visit my sister in Utah. I love to visit her but the trips are always so busy and when I get home I miss her and the kids so much, it is hard. But that just means that I plan another visit, or she plans one, and we can look forward to seeing each other again. I have the same feelings when my mom comes to visit, only she usually stays a month or two. When she leaves, after about three days my husband and I both want her to come back.

Absolutely ctrmuziklvr. I must run my home and all that entails. But I must also be a responsible daughter/sister/etc. I wish there was a way around this.
