what is your definition of love?

everyone really has different definitions of love and what they think it is and when they know that they love someone, and i certainly have my opinions, that its that feeling that you get when you are with someone that you know that they are someone that you really want to keep in your life no matter what happens...so i was just wondering what everyones definition of love is and when you know that you love someone, what kind of feelings that you get? i would like to take this time to thank everyone that has taken the time out of your day to come by and look at my discussion adn hopefully answer, thanks once again for spending your time trying to help me!

I think that you are right about everyone having different definitions of love. I think that love is basically something that is an unspoken and unconditional feeling between two people. Of course there is love for family or children but when it comes to mature love then that is a very selfless matter.
True acceptance of another human being with all of their flaws is a very good way of looking at what love really is.
Love is not turning away from someone and also forgiveness plays a very big role.

When someone says that had love at first sight, i don't beleive that is true love. Love is looking at someone, and fealing content. Knowing that you would die to keep her/him safe. To be able to hold her/him and feal an inner warmth. To feal uplifted every time you see them smile. To feel crushed to hear them cry. Love is knowing you could spend the rest of your life with your significant other, and always be able to wake up beside them and know that just so see them smile, you could make it through all of lifes trials and tribulations

when you feel something you want to do for good, even without exchange, even it's a one-sided, that even it is been back for worst, and you still keep up for goodness and betterness of it, then it's love.. :-)
