Aren't Fluffy Bunnies Sweet

Don't you just giggle and squeal with delight when you see an ickle wickle fluffy bunny? Don't you just want to pick them up and hold them close? When I was a boy my sister had one and I got the job of cleaning it out. I didn't like to do it much, but it was harmless fun really. One day though, Daddy's nasty ferret got out of it's cage and killed the bunny. We were very sad and buried it in front of the old Elm Tree. There it lies today. A memorial to good things that can be made bad by just one nasty animal.

Lovely allegorical story P1ke. My mum didn't raise no fool! LOL My kids had a rabbit when they were younger too. We kept in the basement so the cats would drive him nuts. Then we moved................I wonder if that rabbit is still in the basement! LOL Out of sight and out of mind I guess, and in the confusion of moving day, we forgot all about the poor thing. I would have gone back for it, but the ex totalled my car the day after and it just didn't happen. Easter's coming. Will you get me a rabbit? ROFL

Allegorical story from yours truly Sparky? LOL. Poor bunny in the basement though. If he's still there he'll be petrified, or to use your term: mummified! LOL.

I'm sure the ferret thought it was sweet. Too bad, but that's what can happen when a predator and a prey animal have encounters... Anyway bunnies are OK but I"m a cat person!

Indeed. Maybe if we had had a cat we'd have caught the ferret!

I'm a bunny lover - I have 2. Used to be 3 but one met with a nasty accident (sob.) Billy is the best - a neutered male and sooooo sweet! He used to love playing with balloons, until one popped and he scarpered like a cartoon rabbit; all feet not going anywhere! I brought him indoors during the cold snap and he became a house rabbit for a while. He slept in my bedroom and used a litter tray - sometimes. He loves cheese (especially Cheshire) so is a bit portly. One night I was woken up by a series of rhythmic thumps. Billy was trying to jump on my bed but kept misjudging and hitting the divan door instead! My favourite trick used to be blowing up a balloon and getting him to 'biff' it - and then letting go so all the air came out and it flew round the room. He wondered where it had gone and went running off looking for it, making whimpering noises like a dog! Boy, did I feel bad over that one. a real heel. Billy is the best pet I've ever had!

I used to keep rabbits too. I never tried them on cheese - there'd be a fight between me and him over the Cheshire! I had a rabbit once that use to jump into the bath when I was running it. He'd get such a shock! I'd have to dry him off before getting in myself. The next day. Plop. He'd be in again. Clearly had no memory! LOL.

LOL. Wonderful. I had one that used to jump in the rubbish bin and loved yoghurt!

Ha! sounds familiar. Billy loves the water - he gets a bath once a week and comes up all fluffy after we've used the hairdryer on him. All the books say rabbits hate getting wet ... As for the cheese - if we go shopping and then put the bags on the floor, he attacks them to see what 'goodies' we've got, if he's in the house. One day he found half a pound of fresh cheddar and wolfed it down before we could stop him! The first time he had cheshire, it was in a sandwich I was eating. He jumped on my lap and yanked it out of my hand. Since then, it's been his favourite. He eats ANYTHING. That includes phone cables and internet leads, as well as the little rubber buttons on the sky remote. But he won't touch the chew toys we buy from the pet shop. Oh, and he's a bit 'sniffy' about anything with the words 'rabbit food' on it, too. He has his own easter egg every year - and growls if anyone comes near it!

I just love bunnies...as long as I don't have to clean up after them..they are so cute and adorable and so soft...but also smelly. My in-laws kids who lived within 10 foot of us on both sides had them. We were always helping feed them and watching them play in our yard. Boy can they squeal though especially when they are trying to get away and the kids catch them. Maybe the ferret was jealous..

Rabbits are lovely creatures, my fave rabbit is Bugs! (joke) But I do remember my friend had a bunny who was the most attention seeking pet ever and was abit mischievous chewing through the washing machine lines and he may have also had an identity crisis cos he kept trying to mate with the pet cat.

Nasty stinking ferret to destroy something so innocent and that gives such pleasure! I truly believe that ferrets and their like should be kept well away from the innocent fluffy bunnies and just savage each other if that is the way they want to live! HUgs xxx

Fluffy bunnies don't make me giggle and squeal with delight, but they do make my tummy rumble. I've got a hutchful fattening up nicely outside :-) I'm going to run away and hide now, before any bunny lovers start throwing things.

It's better not to have any pets. You need not to make memorial for them.If you are an animal lover let them remain free. You must have seen the film"Born Free".Lions are so cruel but when free they arte so beautiful.Live and let live with freedom.Thanks.

Oh my gooddness. I can't imagine my ferrets ever having killed a poor bunny. Though, they were always in the house when I owned them. I'm sorry about the loss though. Anora

The ferret was only doing what comes naturally. He didn't know the rabbit was a pet. Should have made a nice rabbit stew out of him for the ferret.

LOL. The story whilst true, is allegoric Nanna. The ferret was shot eventually. So it was a real bloodbath that day in the garden.

Sure as long as they are angora rabbits. They have lots of fur which can be spun and made into cloths, warm cloths.

I raised rabbits..just loved seeing them different colors and mating them and wondering what the new colors would be..sadly it just got to where they grew overpopulated for me to handle... My oldest grandaughter has two of those ferrets..I call them rats..she knows to keep them away from me..lol..

... ummmmmmmmmmhhhh. I don't know. My friend's bunny basically just smelled really bad and tried to bite me all the time. So no, I don't feel like squealing and glomphing every bunny I see. They're cute from far away though. (:
