Hi moneymommy..I saw the discussion and thought it said "are you a bit*h...so I answered right away....
I remember you saying how you love the beach but arent near it anymore..I am!!...I live on the east coast of canada and anywhere in this province is not far from the beach. I would miss it dearly if I couldnt see it, and be on it!!...and in the water. We are surrounded by water and many beautiful white sand and brown sand beaches. I love the sound of the waves and just watching them crash too. I cant remember if I told you that this summer past, the ocean tried to get the better of me...(old age memory loss, insert here)...I got caught in an undertow and couldnt get back on my feet. It tossed me and threw me all over and scraped and cut me up. I just finally got out and moved on to another beach!!...

Hi moneymommy ! I live on the first row back from the beach, so only a few steps and I'm there! I live in a lazy little fishing village in Mexico . Life is so good living here. Every morning I start my day with a walk on the beach. I love collecting sea shells, sea glass, and other little treasures that wash up during
the night. Hearing the waves and the sea birds is very relaxing, and the breeze is wonderful! It gets very hot and humid in the Yucatan , and the ocean breeze
really feels good ! I feel very lucky that I was able to retire here

I reside in Italy, so I am only a short drive from the Mediterranean or the Adriatic. They are both so pristine and gorgeous. I wish I lived closer and could go all the time. I, too, used to live right by the beach in Okinawa, Japan (military family) and I loved diving and snorkeling and just sitting by the water. I definately miss the beachy island life!

Yes, I do love beach area. That is why I impatiently waiting Dec. 2010, time for me to back home at Ocean City, Maryland USA. Currently, am an expatriate in one of the Asean country since Dec. 2006. To soothe missing bout my homeland, I embed all seven (7) live digital webcams on my blog page, every time I switch on my computer and the internet connection, it is a must visit link.
This is the link, Caroline Street Cam; http://www.ococean.com/webcam.html
I love my homeland and you can obviously see what a nice beach! ~ blissful.

I wish I do but as it is, I don't. I think it's also for the best, at least I have something to look forward to on vacation days. I know that living near the beach has its advantages and disadvantages.

hello moneymommy
i do not live near the beach at all. it takes hours to drive or travel to the beach from where that we live here in Tennessee. i guess that i would like to live at the beach again sometime if i were to be lucky enough to have ocean front property. then all that i would have to do is walk outside and be at the beach, not having to worry about a parking place once i got to the beach. but i would like to have a swimming pool at my house also, i do not like getting into the ocean to swim at all. the salt water burns your eyes so bad. but i love all of the activities that goes on at the beach. it is a very active environment. there are all different kinds of things to do at the beach. from eating, playing, to putt putt golf and lots more things to do.
take care and have a beautiful evening.

There is nothing like the beach. I was born in Cape Town, South Africa and the beach was a 20 minute drive and I could see the ocean from our place. Now I live in Montreal, Canada and have no ocean beach nearby and miss it a lot. Nearest beach is a 6 hour drive to Maine, USA. Beach and ocean does wonders
