when you are on the internet there are a lot of things that you have to worry about, putting your information into the computer(such as credit cards and things like that to buy things)talking to people(people may not be who they say)and just viruses and things like that on the computer and its really dangerous sometimes because if you mess up that can really ruin your life, and thats really scary at times, so what do you all think do you think the internet is too risky or do you think its more safe than risky? i would like to take this time to thank everyone that has taken the time out of your day to come by and look at my discussion adn hopefully answer, thanks once again for spending your time trying to help me!

I think that internet is more risky than safe. If you disclose your personal information easily, then something may go wrong easily. For example, if by some means you disclose your passwords, etc. Even, if we take precautions, things can go wrong too because I believe many hackers are around. That's why try to keep the personal thing as private as you can to avoid impersonation, hijacking, etc.
Happy mylotting!

i think internet will be only be risky depend to the user of it,if the user use the internet for bad things then it could be a risky, and aside from that user always control what the internet should do,aside from that a user know when and why he/she need to input his/her information.

I think it is more risky in terms of using your credit card and or debit card to buy online items. If you use internet in good reason. Like to make an extra income for it. It is not risky. But if you use internet to buy and expose your credit card or debit card that is risky. If you upload your photo's wearing two piece of not wearing anything you need to think a million times because it is risky. Or share videos that is for your eye only think a trillion times that is risky...

Yes I do feel it can be a very dangerous place for both kids and adults. There are people out there that do nothing but find a way to gain info on you. I wanted to do online banking, everyone or most say it is safe. I do not feel comfortable giving my ss #, banking info or other ways for these very smart scamme'rs to take my identity. If this is true I do not know, but I read an article saying these scums can get info online and purchase equipment to get this info from your accounts, e-mails, sites you belong. So I am scared at how easy it has become to put your personal info out there for anyone can see, if you watch news you see it does happen and people have actually had their entire identity stolen. Of course the very scary thing is how thy reach our children through lies and deceipt. Honestly a 60 year old man posing as a teen, to just "chat", right that is what they want. I am so glad our police in Detroit have a special unit just to catch these perverts. but it is known yet they still continue to do it, obviously beside being demented they are stupid. I love it when the scum sets up a meeting with the child and who shows up is the hardworking police. So I make sure to be very careful, never put private info on autofill ex. credit cards, ss #! Believe me a friend of mine had someone try this sending a false e-mail, I have had fraudulent e-mails from papal, asking to update my account, these are phishing schemes. I got a bill from this person posing as a paypal representative. But I looked at the "sent from" address and it did not match, he was billing huge amounts on my account. I immediately contacted papal and explained, it turned out he was doing this to many people and trying to track him, they asked to forward all mail from him, which I did. I have no idea if he was caught, but he is one of many. There are so many things I love about the Internet, but my security is constantly updated and I pay close attention. It has it's good and bad things as do most, but we have to protect ourselves from cons and most important our children, make sure to use parental controls, we do not allow a computer in our kids rooms, I want to see what they are surfing and so many articles on the Internet are so scary, they have sites on how to build bombs. They had Internet articles in suspects of 911. Just be careful and a constant watch on what your giving out and watch your child's surfing. The Columbine incident info was found oline by those children, how scary is this? Good Luck, most of all be safe, aware and present!!

Hello jhl. While the Internet is offering us a lot of convenience with so many numerous pieces of helpful information, it is also very risky for us users as we do share a lot of our personal information on the Internet, which could be used by some who use it to do something illegally. Therefore, we can never be too careful to be cautious of the use of the Internet. Thank you for your discussion, dear jhl. Take care.

Nope it not a risky are. But if u search for it u will get it right here. Tat means just every things got its own both sides. have wat u want and leave don't wait for much. Now a days everything is available in net, but that doesn't means that net is a risky area. Its never one like that. Think about watching the whole world sitting in ur bedroom. There are risky areas treat them like don't n enjoy surfing
