The NBA is no joining the line of corporations and businesses with their hands out for money. The NBA needs money? To pay the million dollar salaries? They need $175 million dollars? Here's an idea, how about the players take a pay cut? They can raise the money in player donations alone. In a day when a family can't afford to bring their children to see a game, or buy their favorite players jersey, it's sickning we have to give these millionaires more money.

It is amazing really that professional sports teams need lines of credit and loans in this economy to keep things running smoothly. Are you kidding me? Like you say, here is a thought - don't pay these guys (players) the ridiculous amounts of money. That would be too easy. At some point the professional sports salaries bubble must burst. Hopefully it is soon..... --Corey

Yes hopefully the bubble will burst soon. In a time when people are struggling to stay in their homes and feed their families, it's wasteful what were paying these athletes. If owners don't have enough money, then leave them to figure it own themselves. Hard to feel empathy for them.

i don't think so.That will lead NBA to a bad situation.Probably the league will get the luxury-tax threshold lower, which can save much money.

I think the loan has already been made. I'm pretty sure it was for 17 of the NBA teams.

That is funny. The only thing that would be funnier, maybe, is if the government finds a way to give them the money. Can you imagine what that would do? Major league sports have priced them selves into this mess. The common fan can't afford to go to games and it has turned into a big celebrity and corporate thing. now that the rich are starting to feel the crunch, especially with the stock market and new taxes where will these poor athletes get their millions from. Don't get me wrong, if someone wanted to pay me that kind of money to play I would take it. However, I am not going to spend the money it now costs to go to the games.

I wonder if these athletes have concerns over the economy when they look in the stands and see fewer young kids and families.

They will never be poor. I mean even if there's a financial crisis. Fans are fans and they will definitely go anywhere with their idol; Kobe, Dwyane, Dwight, Bron etc. They will pay everything just to see this guys dunk block get an assist get injured and pa applauded again :)
