i know with mine i have a rather smart dog and when i really try with him maybe a few days and he has a trick learned and he knows a lot of them and he's really smart and i think that he knows a little too much at times, and i was just wondering about all of you because i have had dogs before that i could never teach him/her a trick because it just really didn't want to learn and just sit there and look at me like i was stupid, so i was just wondering how long it takes you all to teach your dogs a trick? i would like to take this time to thank everyone that has taken the time out of your day to come by and look at my discussion adn hopefully answer, thanks once again for spending your time trying to help me!

I have a 6 months old lab dog, he is very intellengient, I have been teaching him lots of tricks, I just need to say it and show him over and over again then he got it, it didn't take me a long time. Trying to teach him more new stuff too :-)

It usually depends on the complexity of the command. He learned certain things such as "shake 'em", which means that he is supposed to shake his toy around, really fast, but rolling over is still a challenge for him sometimes. The key is to be patient and keep reviewing the tricks that he has learned so that he doesn't forget them.
