Do you end up liking supporting actors/characters more than the leading ones?

I have a funny quirk about this. I always seem to end up liking secondary characters more than the main guy/girl. Example: Burn Notice. I love Michael, but Sam is much more interesting to me, mostly because he's funny and not bad to look at either. LOL. I really seem to go for the funny people, probably because I'm a little wacky. Showing my age here, but it was the same for the A-Team. Most of the girls that watched it liked Face but I always liked Murdock because he was so crazy and hilarious. Are you the same way or am I alone here?

hi robin...sometimes definitely. in Welcome Back Kotter i prefered Horshack. (sp?) and on american idol i liked sanjaya. and tonight "Norman" got voted off and he was my favorite. i can't watch it anymore this season now. i know he wasn't the best vocalist but he was extremely creatively funny and entertaining. yet many people hated him. but i loved him.

I think supporting actors have all the fun, since the main actors have to carry the show they tend do be more likeable and straightforward the quirky supporting or guest characters are generally the ones that get the better laugh or are more liked. The only exception I can think of is is Dr House where Wilson is the classic lead but it is House who even though rough is the main lead. In Num3rs though one of my favourite scene is Larry and Charlie with the tub of goo they run on and their excuse is to test fluid dynamics they look like kids running I think these bits is what makes dramas bare able. The same applies for villains, a charismatic villain can have just as big a following like Krycek from X-files etc

There are a bunch of character actors that I really like, often times more than the lead actors. Sometimes these guys are the main character but usually not. Actors like: Steve Buscemi, Arman Muhler Stahl, Don Cheadle, Liev Schreiber, Delroy Lindo, Ned Beatty, Eugene Levy, Kevin Pollock, Ron Rifkin, James Earl Jones, Willem Defoe, James Cromwell, Ron Eldard etc And those are just a few of the guys....I could make a similar list for the gals....
