This happened to me once. I went to see Seabiscuit on opening night, so naturally there were a lot of pony nerds like me, and when he won the race against War Admiral the theater went crazy cheering, and we actually gave the movie a standing ovation. (Which, come to think of it, was kinda silly, because all of us knew the outcome of the race before we even went in the theater to begin with.)
My dad told me that when he went to see ET on opening night, the theater gave it a standing ovation at the part where ET and all the boys start flying when they are riding their bikes away from the scary government guys. He said he also saw a few grown men cry in that movie, hehe.
So what about you? Have you ever been to a movie that got a standing ovation in the theaters?

I have been in theaters that people have clapped at the ending and got really excited about. Fast and the Furious, the first one back in high school was a huge hit and big big movie. Also happend when I saw Iron Man in theaters.
