My pick is Kobe briant. He show a tremendous effort for the los angeles lakers. With his team being on top, He proves that he can be a good team leader beacause a team is not a one-man team. It's all about the effort of their entire team which is cause by a good leader..Good luck kobe and I hope you can bring the lakers to the finals again...

Good pick bro. i won't let you guys know yet who am i rooting for. Just so you think i am not biased on a player. I think Kobe can get back to back as long as the team goes deep in the playoffs... i believed Kobe have had won the MVP at least 3 times already by now. it's just his team can't get past he first round before. he's a seasoned veteran at a young age. and he's now no.19 in the scoring list. I reckon if no major injury happens to him. He has a chance to overtake MJ on the scoring list. I'm not saying he will... but he can have a shot at it.. hehehehe Another thing... Kobe has proven to distribute the ball when needed. take over games if needed. and sacrifice a lot for the team. nuff said...

This year, I am going with LeBron James. Altogether he is just the best in the NBA. Not only is he almost always healthy but he plays through injury and always has a positive impact on his team. He is practically the face of the Cavaliers organization. In addition, he is a very complete player. 30 points a game, and 7 rebounds and assists a game, proves that he can do more than take the ball to the rack. Not only is he successful but his team is as well. Currently, they are the team to beat in the East.

i'm picking lebron to get it done this year. just based on how the league has been naming the previous mvp winners, i think lebron gets it this year. he has single brought the nba back to its previous popular stature. of course, his stats are of the charts and from a marketing point of view, awarding the mvp plum to lebron is a good campaign for the nba to sell itself to a wider audience. just my two cents!!!

lebron... king james... and this time... with more than just a basketball perspective... i dig it... great concept on viewing the mvp not only basing it on stats but also looking at it in a business perspective... kobe may still have it in him but the fans thinks that all kobe needs is a ring to prove he can get it done w/out shaq. but other than that... kobe has been a household name... lebron in the next generation. nice response allen0187. cheers!

I want kobe to win again. he definitely deserves it. The only reason why they wouldn't pick him would be because his teammates have all matured from last season. So even if Kobe doesn't play then his team can still win. And that definitely doesn't make him the most valuable player.Still, with the way he is playing, I think it'll be possible for the Lakers to finally win a championship again. :)

another kobe fan... interesting thought... i agree to you to a certain point that even if kobe doesn't play they can still win games... however, the cud not be a playoff bound team without kobe... pau gasol is not as explosive of a scorer than kobe who can fire at will... his team won't be able to contend for a ring w/out kobe... dats only in my point of view... lamar may be playing good... but he's known for being inconsistent throughout his career... in the end.. pau is all alone... kobe and pau fits the triangle... i love watching it... great comment mate... i hope the lakers cud make a run for the title too...

Right now I would go with LeBron James. The guy is having a incredible year! The Cleveland Cavaliers are also having a great year! If James doesn't win it I'd go with Chris Paul of the New Orleans Hornets. Why because is a great basketball player and an over nice guy!

great pick mate... I think lebron has proven worthy to be the MVP this year... he's all around effort is just astounding... I haven't even seen a player with that kind of athleticism to consistently get 25-7-7 a night... i know MJ has done it before... but for me MJ is a consistent 30-5-5 than lebron's 30-7-7 season. this kid has some talent. cp3 may have been still a long shot for mvp. but cp3 is really a great man. full of heart. going back to bron... with kobe always in his hindsights... this guy can do anything to overcome the jordanesque player in his era... kobe... lebron can't be compared to MJ... unlike kobe... he talks, he walks and he mocks MJ inside and out.... lebron is plain lebron... dats wat i think... hehehehe... peace

MVP -the most valuable player.i think the most valuable thing the MVP should do is not only to try his best to play but aslo make his teamates stronger to win together. In an MVP's eyes, personal data is not what he cares .To win ,to defeat any other team are just what he really cares about. When his teamates'perfamance are bad,he will encourge them instead of scolding them and trying to end every offence by himself.Of course every super stars in the leage will say i ever did what you said. But,we don't want ever ,we want always. So i will vote for Tim Duncan,a true team player and he is aslo the unfortunate guy people will alway neglect when think about who they should vote for the MVP.Do you agree with me,guys?

well said... a tim duncan fan... i agree that duncan is one candidate for mvp. but he just missed three games with a knee injury. its a good point that you mentioned about how he elevates his team mate's performance thru encouragement. all franchise players are like that. kobe, lebron, chris paul, paul pierce have in common. each player has their own unique way of encouraging their team. lebron does it by sharing the ball and giving intensity in the game... kobe leads by example. he makes his team mates see that he works hard for them to work hard. cp3 and duncan are the same... they use encouraging words. encouragement comes in different packages. u just need to be a great follower as well to notice different approaches. but duncan is one of the superstars in the league. if he stays healthy, he might have a shot at mvp.

I would vote for Lebron James, he's a great team leader, all around player and the Cavs are doin great, leading the eastern conference and only have 1 defeat at home. He is also a spectacular player with great moves and dunks which is always fun to watch the Cavs since he has been playing with them. I also think that Lebron this season have a bigger chance of getting a championship ring.

I've read most of the responses, and im extremely surprised. What happened to Flash? He's putting up career highs this year in points, and hes leading the league. What more can you ask of him? He's brought this team from a dump, into a team that is in the playoffs. Eric Spoelstra should really be thanking Wade for the job that he's done this season. Wades been extremely consistent in late games, and even though he might make silly turnovers, its not that big of a deal. Even though Lebron and Kobe are having great years as well, they have a great supporting cast. Ilgauskas, Williams, Gasol, Bynum, just to name a few. I really hope that this year, is finally, Wade's year.
