Does social networking media to help improve your blog traffic?

In my opinion, Yes they do because social networks (Facebook, Myspace, Twitter, etc.) can help promote your blog which in return can gain some internet readership and traffic. How about you are you using social networking media for the purpose of promoting blogs?
