With Open Office 3 supporting MS office 2007 formats, would you rather use Open Office as your office suite application or stick go with the pricey Microsoft 2007 Office Suite?

I prefer open office because it runs much faster than that of MS. Besides, open office can output your documents into PDF format, which i think is very convenient for most users.

I Agree, Only Open Office has a built-in PDF Export which MS Office doesn't have.

I can appreciate that applications such as Powerpoint and Access will have little appeal to many users, but surely if you have Microsoft office then you must be using Word and Outlook.

^_^ Howdy!.... cnetboss!.... If you don't have enough money then use OpenOffice.org office suite. If you have money then use MS Office Suite 2007. Don't use pirated softwares. ^_^ Thanks!.... and Enjoy!.... myLot!....

I really agree with you on that. We should always use Open Source Alternatives as much as possible.

I understand because I used to use Microsoft Office because Open Office before version 2.4 and 3.0 has a different user interface unlike the latest versions they have similar user interface as Microsoft Office 2003.

I doubt Microsoft will port MS office 2007 on linux because it will only run on a Windows environment.

I have always been a great fan of Microsoft Office, but not 2007. The suite is excellent, but there are far too many restrictions imposed on the applications for security purposes, such as lack of animation in Outlook 2007. I understand the need for security, although Microsoft seem to go overboard with it. Every time a new version is released the versatility seems to have been reduced. As a result I am still using Office 2003.

I'll still use microsoft office 2007. It is the software I learn first and this is were I train myself to use so it will still be MS 2007.
