why do ladies pretend?

i recently met a lady and asked her out but she was reluctant to come with me.but was reliably informed later by her friend that she was telling her about a guy that she met and that she like this guy very much.then why didn't she just affirm to my request. WHY DO LADIES PRETEND?

well every girl has her own reason why she does this or would do that, bla bla bla... but i think most girls are fickle minded. i am one, sometimes i can't make up my mind if i want a guy or not. and sometimes i even end up liking two guys at the same time and not knowing which one to pick or prefer over the other. sometimes i cant even tell who i want to be with more...or IF i really want to be with anyone in the first place. just sharing ... LOL

She may have liked you, but as she was not yet comfortable as she might not have developed faith in you. Once I met a guy and liked him a lot but was not comfortable to go out but gradually when we kept on talking and developed faith for one another then we went out. So it is a gradual process not a case of pretend or else.
