Did you have FBS test?

FBS test shows how well our body uses sugar. It is important for checking diabetes and even pre-diabetes. It was a bit scary to have this test. It was not because of the needle, but because of the result. Thinking about it was dreadful. I really thought I would be over a hundred milligram per deciliter because I'm fond of eating sweets and I'm a overweight, but thank God it was way less than that. I ate a lot after that. But, of course, everybody needs to be careful. At this age, I will be careful. Did you have your FBS test?

Hello my friend djoyce71 Ji, Well, I am alraedy diabetic and take medicines. I am DM2 as per Doctor's pronounciation I have been taking regular medicines alongwith some hebal medicine. It has always been now marginal. I undergo regular tests every 3 months. Everything is undercontrol. My weight too is within limits, it keeps flactuating between 50-555 Kgs for the last six yrs. But, walking is very essential to control sugar. Further, as you thought, it is not that diabeties is linked, how much sugar is cionsumed by person in different form, it is how much is required by the body. So these things are natural. It is a great relief. However, I am getting BSL (Blood sugar level), it is done in two parts, one is 'Fasting' and the other is 'PP' (empty stomach-after the bed, without taking anything), and PP (two hours after the normal Break-fast). May God bless you and have a great time.

That was my second. The first time was dreadful, too. You know I'm afraid of needles.

I also love sweets but I make it a point not to exceed the limit. I also do engage in regular exercise so my FBS tests have always been normal. Now my dear as you yourself admit, you are overweight, I think you have to avoid too much sweet and also do have a regular exercise. Diabetes hits overweight people easily so better be careful my dear. Exercise is the best prevention to high sugar level that leads to diabetes. Remember that my friend!

I've been thinking of having one myself for the past three months. I'm just quite busy as of now. Maybe next week I will do that. I'm not scared of the thought of doing it. It's better to know it early if I have high sugar so that I can take care of myself more.

You're young for diabetes. Yes, I think weight is not always an indication. Well, I think it's hereditary. I hope you could control your sugar intake. Are you in insulin shots already?

Hello joyce, yes I had FBS checked up but that was a year ago. My blood sugar is little high but my doctor said he would not prescribed any medicines for me because he said I am a chemical diabetic. I could let it down and back to normal if I would have only a regular exercise and that's what I always doing it. I would just minimize my carbo intake, sweets and sodas and keep my regular exercise..it's been a a year now since my last FBS checked up. Just a week ago we had a blood letting at our district office and I donated my "precious blood" for the future needs of our brethren. Every quarter I participate on our district blood letting, have you tried it already? If you're qualified try it, it would be very nice on our health...cheers

Good evening mob. I never tried. I wanted to donate blood even before, but I'm not qualified. I take steroids for my asthma.
