first mail system was introduced by yahoo now there are many mailing services.. i prefer both gmail and yahoo mail for professional use i give my gmail account id... for fun and gaming i produce my yahoo id.. both are good .. they are really unmatched.. their storage capacity is really good.. happy mylotting...

My favorite is Gmail. It is probably the number one free personal email service out there. I have heard it being recommended over and over again by various people all over the way. It has a great spam blocker, is easy to use, yet allows all emails through so signing up for sites is no problem. You can have multiple accounts and it offers free forwarding and being forwarded too. I use gmail more than anything since I switched to it from Hotmail. I like the Hotmail interface but Gmail is so much better in features overall.
