In the classics book "Pollyanna" by Eleanor H. Porter, the protagonist Pollyanna always has something to be glad about, even though the circumstances are unfavorable to her. Do you encounter unfavorable moments in life but when you looked back you can be glad about? How has your perspective changed along the way?

Oh yes I do!
I was just having this same conversation with my wife the other night.
We were looking at our life now and taking note of what we could have done better if we had the chance.
Then we ask ourselves, is the point we are in life now that bad?
And then we started to see the positive side to the negative things that happened to us. And boy, we were thankful for the way things were. For without them happenign the way they did, we would have been in a even more dire state than we are now.
So yes, I do look back from time to time. And when I do, I seem to be able to find something to be glad about when relooking the same situation. And yes, to some point, it does change my perspective. Allowing me to move forward instead of thinking back and thinking about all those what-ifs in life!

I dunno about the book as i have not heard about it before.. hehe ^_^
I guess most ple do face unfavorable moments in life and that includes me too.. BUt more than often, i dun find myself happy or feel glad when i look back.. Because in the process of doing what i was pursuing, i hurt alot of ple, even though i did achieve some results and learned some things in life..
I guess that's the way life is, and no matter what, my perspective will never change, as long as my belief is there, with whatever things i'm doing ^_^

Recently, I went to show my apartment that I had been trying to rent out for a long time. Upon arrival, I realized that I forgot my keys. The guy was really nice when I asked him to come back after a brief interview. He was to come back at the same time that I was supposed to meet some other people.
I lucked out, that I had forgotten my keys, because even though the guy didn't qualify I probably would have rented to him just out of desperation. When I came back and met the other people, they qualified well and liked the apartment. I was so relieved that I had forgotten my keys at the first appointment!

I've never read the book but I have usually been able to be in a good mood and smile so much so that when I was younger people expected to see it all the time and I had to say I was not Pollyanna and entitled to have a moody moment from time time. There is always something to be glad about however, as no matter how bad things are they could always be worse.
