Are you myLotting when you should be doing other things?

I am guilty.
When I get in the mood to myLot, I don't want to do anything else. I have things that need to be tended too and here I sit.
Do you find yourself getting your priorities out of whack with this site?
Oh well, life is short. I want to enjoy and right now this is what brings me joy.
I make sure I have everything done by 4:00 though. Don't want husband to come waltzing through the door and know how I have been spending my day.
Remember that old Rice crispy commercial where the woman is reading in the kitchen, then she pounces a little flour on her face before she takes the treats to her family in the other room giving the impression she has been slaving away? Well, that's just about what I do lol.

Sparky, I give a huge body shiver on behalf of untouched toilets.
They are forever in there mocking me, 'Clean us, we need cleaning, don't forget, here we sit, covered in a fine spray of pee' I shout back 'Shut-up I'll get to you when I get to you'

I used to get in trouble with my ex for doing exactly that, I had jobs to do in around the house but Mylot was far more enjoyable and preferable to household chores, what I should have done was got the chores done FIRST then I could relax and spend hours Mylotting, but the trouble was I would get so heavily involved after breakfast that I didn't notice the time, you know how it is when you get into something and the time sped past and the chores didn't get done and my poor ears got a bashing for what I didn't do!

I do understand how easy it is to get caught up with this site.
I'm sorry that you got scolded by your ex. I always get my housework done eventually. I don't know how your ex was, but when husband and son start picking up after themselves a little better (which is where most of my chores come from) I might concern myself more about getting them done.
Until then, I will probably continue on the trek I'm on. Besides, anything I do on the computer eventually runs its course and then I won't even touch the thing for months at a time other tan checking my e-mail.

Same here, same here lol.
I've told myself what I need to do is just take care of all my chores, and then come in here and Lot away. I can't do it because I'm not jumping out of bed in the morning and starting in on chores.
Instead, I get my coffee and come in here to the computer. I haven't been on in months, and now I'm into it full swing again.

Oh NO!!!! You sound like me. We had new flooring put in the den and it took me two or three days to do what it would normally take me a day to do.
Instead of cleaning up the flooring mess and getting the house back in order, I would myLot for hours, then do a little something with the house.
You know, I really get tired and weary after I have sit here for hours Lotting. Who want's to clean house when you're worn out from Lotting?

Here I am about to make coffe at home and got the milk out of the fridge. Now I am sitting here, and typing away to glory.
THis is why I don't log in , when I have important work.We all have our priorities and are not always radical.

I am guilty that everything is neglected cos of my addiction to mylotting. When I am mylotting time passes very fast and by the time I realize it the household chores has not even started then I start to do a lot of shortcuts like cooking two in one dish, rushing to get the broom just to dust away some clutters and laundry is all piled up in the washing machine just to make it look as though I have done my daily household chores before I get the sound of music from my husband.

LOL, my husband may look around inquisitively but he won't ever actually say anything.
It's a shame when a bunch of grown women scamper around like procrastinating children trying to cover-up what they haven't been doing during the day.
Too funny huh

LOL, I used to do that too when I first found the lot. Didn't want the hubs to think I was lazy! LOL Now, he's away so much I can relax and do what I want when I want.
But oh boy, the day before he's due to come home I'm a whirl of activity and barely open my computer! LOL

ROFL...You go girl!!!
I've come to the conclusion that it is not a bad thing for them to come home from work and see us cleaning sometimes.
It helps them to realize that there aren't some little fairies that come in and pick-up their socks, drawers, and glasses they have left everywhere.
One evening I got a wild-hair and tore my kitchen apart to really clean it. I had the stove pulled out, everything pulled off of the counters. My 12-year-old didn't like it one little bit.
He asked his dad, 'What is she doing? and why is she doing it now?'
You know, with all the dirty chores that we have to do, we shouldn't feel guilty about doing what we want when we want to do it. And yet....I do lol

You know, I've done that too, stayed on until I couldn't find anything or real interest to me.
I wish they had a last button on the discussion tab, I would love to go the very end of the list.
I could do it now but it would have to be every ten pages or constantly hit the next button. I wonder how long it would take?

We're all guilty. Interestingly I think only one person who answered this discussion hinted that they pretty well had their priorities straight when myLotting, and I think they added that there was really something they should be have been doing right then lol.

I find myLotting later at night works better for me. But, do find myself here off and on throughout the day. I am enjoying myself right now, plus enjoy watching my earnings go up.
Love the commercial with the flour, like she has been slaving all day. LOL

I'm a morning myLotter. I'll get my morning coffee and here I'll sit for hours.
It takes me in spells. I'll probably be pretty active until I go back to work in a couple of weeks.
I have to train in Savannah Ga for a week, and I'm already wondering if they will have a internet hook-up in my room for my laptop.

I am myLotting when I should be doing something else. Ive been mylotting all night. I really should be sleeping, but i just cant put the lap top down. I do, then I pick it right back up and get back to mylotting. I cant seem to stop. it seems like an addiction. is there a support group

ROFL...no, I don't think there is a support group. I see you are fairly new to the site if the posting number by your name is anything to go by.
I'm afraid you're just going to have to keep at it until it has run its course.
But that's okay, there are always plenty of people who can relate to what you're going through. lol
Just enjoy...the drive will ease off after a bit...after a few hundred post or more.

I am myLotting when I should be doing other things. Do not blame me, but myLot is so addicting to me. What I should be doing now is homework but I am too lazy to do it right now because I am on myLot and it is the weekend. I have plenty of time finish my homework. Anyways, I want to do what brings smile to my face just like you, SusanLee. I am pretty sure that I am not the only user to be myLotting when other things are needed to be done.

Yep, it's addictive alright. For me it's better to just myLot and get it out of my system for the day. I will eventually get too tired to be productive in the site. I always wait to do my responding in the mornings.
If I don't go ahead and myLot, I think about all the things I want to talk about on the site.

I see you are just starting out. You poor thing, if your anything like I was you are practically breaking your neck getting to the computer first thing when you wake-up just to see anyone responded to anything you had to say.
Then there is staying up until all hours until your eyes are red, swollen, and running with sleep tears lol.
Fortunately, it is a short-term condition, as time goes by, you will work out a routine that works for you. Mine is in the A.M., others like the nights.

I don't know why it's so addicting. I do like watching the pennies add up, I've hit payout, but I haven't cashed it in, it's still sitting in paypal.
I think there are a lot of little incentives that makes this site attractive to people.
And the variety of topics to talk about is astounding. There is something for everyone.

I'm new to mylot just few days, however I mylot as you say in
between my calls while I'm working, exciting huh, so sometimes it
takes me a good while to search & read to answer or post, but i'll
get it together. I think if you enjoy what your doing and there's benefit
in doing it to others and yourself the dishes will eventually get done right.
I work from home so I'm good at multitasking between several things I do from
home to make ends meet. So slave away girl and be I am Woman, by the way have
you responded to that post I did yesterday I am woman, thats what it's all about
getting the daily chores of being a woman done. We are wife, mother, executives, postal workers,care-givers of our parents ect we wear so many different hats.

I wish I had a job I could do from home.
If you haven't done it already, you can set up your account to alert you through your e-mail when you have activity on myLot.
I use to be very good at multitasking, but not anymore. Seems like the older I get the harder is to be efficient in more than one thing at a time, not to mention I forget what I'm doing lol.

Yeah, I'm guilty too. I'm a transcriptionist so I need to be in front of my computer typing and working about work stuff but sometimes, I just couldn't help but go to Mylot to check out my discussions and to find some that would interest me 'cause work could be so exhausting and boring and I don't regret it 'cause if I get too workaholic, I would end up in a hospital bed so I think it's just right to take a bit of your work time off to get things that enjoys you, sort of breaking free from stress.

Man I'm so jealous!!!!!
I went back to school in 07 to be a medical transcriptionist and can't find a job.
Everyone in the immediate area is going to voice recognition software.
Not to mention the ones I might have a shot at don't want anyone who doesn't have at least two to five years experience. Bummer.
Anyway, it's good you have access to myLot while you're working. I bet it can be stressful.

Well, at first when I read your post, I honestly thought, "no, there's nothing else that I should be doing." But then I broadened my thinking, and while there is nothing that requires my immediate attention right now, there are lots of things that I could be doing. Like cleaning, or laundry, or going through mail.... but what it comes down to is which would I rather be doing. And, since like I said, nothing is urgent at this point, so I'm here for the meantime on Mylot!

If there is one thing I have learned, it is that I will never have to worry about someone fighting me for the right to take care of dirty laundry, dirty toilets, a sink full of dishes, not to mention dirty carpet and floors that need mopping.
And so far a cleaning fairy has not shown up at my door.
And since we have all the grunt-work, why not myLot...the mess will always be there.

Guilty. I am a college student and should be doing my homework but...here I am! I don't like studying constantly and when I found this site...there went a lot of study time. However, I am getting better. Now, when I study, I reward myself with mylot! I do a few problems, read a few pages, something like that, then I get on and answer a few questions. It actually works quite well.

Sounds like you have an excellent system in place. At least for the most part you study first and reward yourself later.
I would think as a college student you really do need an outlet that you can enjoy.
Just don't forget to go for an occasional walk, studying for hours then sitting and myLotting might not be good for your circulatory system.

I am sure that the fiance could easily say that. I tell him "I'm working" so he leaves me alone for a little bit. As a stay at home mom I don't get out very much so this gives me a little outlet to the world. I've found it to be a lot of fun and though I should be doing dishes or folding a load of laundry while my daughter naps I sneak on here to chat!

I'm guilty as well. I should be cleaning my room (should take me about 10 minutes), laundry (I have loads to do, so no excuses there), playing Sims (I can do that any day)...etc. Currently, I am taking my aunt's dogs outside (which I just did). I also need to fill out a job application. There is always the weekend to be catching up on "stuff that needs done" list.
