Enough about Facebook, has anybody heard of Multiply?

Seriously that is my first home on the internet. I have my family blog there, my photos there (unlimited), a section for links, videos, music, recipes, reviews, and one that I'm not using for selling things. It's user friendly, not a lot of problems, the ads aren't annoying, I don't see much spamming and it's customizable. Have a look (not a ref link):
rddcn.multiply.com
And give me an opinion as to why this site isn't as big as MySpace, Facebook, etc.

A lot of the layouts are very busy. Yuwie can be too. It's all personal preference. But I know some people who just can't deal with looking at layouts that are busy like that! Mine isn't so bad. It just has a photo (that I took at Yosemite) in the background.

I have a Multiply account and I really think that it's a good site and this is really recommendable for those people who likes viewing photos or sharing ones 'cause this site is like giving emphasis to the photos that we uploaded in there specially when we see the profile page. There's a lot of online stores there also.

This isn't a site I know anything about at all! The first I ever heard of it was when you mentioned it in my discussion about Facebook. I'll go and have a look as soon as I get the chance! As for it's popularity compared to MySpace etc, I've often wondered about this with many sites actually, because neither MySpace or Facebook hold any appeal for me at all. But such are the fickle natures of people I guess! We never really know what sized PR machine is behind any of these sites either.....

I've been a member of multiply for more than 5 years now. Actually I knew about that site before I even heard of mylot, yuwie, facebook, youtube, etc... I've also been wondering why it didn't go big. It's a very cool site. And very easy to use too.

I WAS over at Mulitply but canceled my account just the other night. I'm just not really into the whole social networking thing..I just plain don't have time as I'm always working....I used to be at Yuwie, canceled that...as I just wasn't active, I'm hardly active at Facebook or MySpace. The only reason I joined up with Mulitply was two of my friends were there...THEN I did the mistake of joining groups...thought great, join groups I was interested in like a writers group and The Secret group. Blah! With the writer's group I kept getting emails of stuff people had written..in Thai language..like huh? I thought it was supposed to be an English based website. And you mention you didn't get spammed? You're lucky! With The Secret group instead of discussing principles of Law of Attraction all I was getting email notices (about 50 a day) that was spam to buy this product, buy that product..so zapped my account there--yeah I suppose I just could have deleted the groups, but since I was hardly over there anyway, I just didn't have time to be active there or add pics or blogs.

Lot of Indonesian there, less Thai. lol
But I haven't really gotten involved in the groups. Maybe that's why I don't get very much spam. Yuwie is another story. For a while there it was spam city!

oh i have a multiply account. i think it's so much better there but facebook is also fun! =) It's like they're both on a different genre or level or something although they are both social networks.

Yes they are very different. I find Facebook confusing but maybe it's because I just haven't taken the time on it.

I also have an account with Multiply but not with Facebook. I was hooked with multiply and friendster and yuwie, before I get to know about mylot. But I almost forgot about those three, and I concentrate myself in this money making site. Much enjoyable and productive...

I may go check it out sometime. It sounds really cool! The only problem with a lot of social networking sites is they are all the same! They don't offer much different. Bloggging, photos, videos, groups, these are all things common to all social networking sites. People are probably just sick of it and decide to jusst stay with what they already have, mySpace and Facebook. If I get a minute though I will try it.

Hey there! I am a member of the site too but I rarely log in to my account. In fact I posted my first blog there. lol I got more into Facebook and Friendster that's why I wasn't able to log in to it. I've uploaded my photos, music, and vidoes. My friends also use Multiply to sell things and write reviews. It's a nice site but I didn't got hooked there as much as Facebook and Friendster got me. Have a nice weekend!

Amazing all of the social type sites that are available today. Wonder at what point it will be too much. Time will tell, only the strong shall survive. GL with Multiply!

Multiply has been around for a while and it's doing well. I kind of wonder about all the paying social sites that cropped up after Yuwie though. I know of at least one (narple, I think) that went belly up!

This website sounds very good. I like the "unlimited" offer:) Frankly, I have never heard of it. If its service is so good, I think it should be popular. Perhaps the problem is its domain name. It is not easy to remember in my opinion.
I love China
