Do you observe superstitions even if you don't think you're superstitious?

I don't consider myself to be superstitious yet I find myself unable to walk under ladders and I count magpies and salute if I only see one.
Are there any superstitions that you observe even if you don't really believe in them? What is the strangest superstition you observe/have heard of?
Why do you think we observe superstitions even though we live in a pragmatic, logical society?

I'm not superstitious at all and don't tend to believe in them whatsoever. My lucky number has always been 13 and I always have good days and tend to be rather lucky on Friday the 13th.
I'll walk under a ladder, rather than walking around it, and nothing has ever fallen from the sky on top of my head. If a black cat crosses my path, I don't panic, I simply wonder if it's the black cat that I used to have. If a mirror breaks, I don't give it a second thought, I just simply clean up the mess. And if it is raining outside, I open my umbrella before I go outside because waiting until I am out of the house seems rather pointless as I'm already wet by that time. LOL!
So no, I'm not superstitious at all.

i am not superstitious and i don't belive in superstitions. i don't walk under ladders for safety matters. but it has nothing to do with superstitions. i think that superstitions are in your head. if you believe in them then you will think you are noticing things. but i still think that it is all in your head
