My office just moved and the boss laid out these new seating arrangements. A real antagonist sits on my left, a real viper sits behind me and my manager sits next to her. All the saleswomen, who gossip like hell, are in the same open area and my activities on my PC are now ridiculously limited. What would you do in a situation like this ?

On my part i never care about any seating arrangement. What i care most is my seatmate.Having a seating arrangement doesn't do anything with your output as long as you do what you need to do.Seating arrangement what i know is done for uniformity purposes so why would we be affected.Just do what you need to do.

I will talk to my boss if he can find me another place.I;m not comfortable with my position so i will let him know so that there will be no problem. if he can't then i will just stay with my table appointed to me and try not to quarrel with my co-workers.And in real life, i never complain on any subject which there is sitting arrangement.Instead i like it so that i can be friend with my classmate/co-workers.I will just ask my boss to transfer if the things that i'm going to do is not available in my seat/table then that will be my permission to him.

Well that kinda sucks. I didnt know that someone would actually make a seating arrangement. Why don't you try and talk to your boss and tell him what you really think. Im sure your boss would take it positive since someone is actually willing to say what they think about what he does. Im not sure what your boss is thinking. Also try to check why your boss would think of something like this. Maybe he thinks your going to be a good influence on others. Good luck.

What i will do is to talk to the boss first about the seating arrangements. But if there's nothing can be changed then what I think you can do is to endure. However I understand your feeling. Sometimes, I have to work with people who do not co-operate and some people who keep doing gossip. It's quite irritated though. But to be a profession, I think we should have concentrate about the outcome or result of the work more than care about those nonsense things. To think on the other hand, Perhaps, you may get some useful information from those gossips by those saleswomen!

I can't do something about the seating arrangement anymore.I think, I just have to adjust from this and to accept such changes. From this kind of situation, I would rather focus on my activities that is more important rather than having my attention to those people around me. I will just ignore things they are talking about that is not relevant on my work.Since my activities on my PC is now limited, I will try to adopt new changes.

i woudn't let my defense be destroyed by an annoying seatmate, i'm just going to do my job well done, being professional is not merely allowing anything to disturb you and that is what i'm going to do...i'm going to mine my own business and go on with it as possible as i can..

ewws that sounds bad and frustrating. When I had been to the same spot, I tried my best to work hard and straight since I was in open view of everyone (including the boss'). After two days of frustration, I just moved forward and embraced it with grace and stubbornness to show that I do work hard. (I then bought a laptop which I surfed whenever I'm out of the office or at home, hehe) Eventually, I gained a corner office with enough space and freedom. Goodluck to you and I hope everything works out.

I would probably start looking for another job. If the situation is that bad now it will more than likely get worse. I would look for something with a better workplace environment.

your situation is really hard to deal with.. if i would be in that situation where there are saleswomen who gossip like hell, i would talk to my boss to transfer my office in another place because i cannot do or perform my job well because of those..i hate people who keep on talking and talking with no sense.. i cannot really do what i want because i am distructed.. my works will also be limited if that is the case so i would take the courage to talk to my boss to transfer me in another office so i can do my job well..
