If you were an author

If you were a best selling author and was asked to do a book signing tour would you? I don't think that I would. I don't like traveling and although I do enjoy writing a few things here and there, if I were to ever have to travel, I would decline and just as soon see my career fall. I know that that sounds crazy, but I think that if you are an author, and even if a best selling author, you shouldn't be made to do anything you don't wish to do. That isn't to say that I would not sign locally and allow people to go to my website and request my signature on a book, but I wouldn't want to travel to do so.
So what would you do?

[i]Hi SomeCowgirl,
I will love that since I love traveling! and I know by that experience, I will find more great topics for my next book and will give me a lot of opportunities to meet different people and learn from their different cultures.

If I'm an author and if I'm asked to do a book signing tour, I will definitely do it. First of all I love traveling. I also wanted to see the people who are supporting face to face and I know that they will be happy to see me as well personally. I would love to hear what they have to say and their opinions about my creations. Traveling will also definitely give me more ideas and the places that I will visit can be used for my future stories.

I think that you have made a good point about traveling and giving you more ideas for future places in your books. Feeling and seeing the places for yourself so that you can know what it was like and convey that in the feelings of your character!
Great response!
Have a great day!

I really love traveling so I would say yes to going on a book signing tour. If I was a best selling author I think my fans would be pleased to see me. I would have my own website as well. I would use times like that to do well in my writing career. One time a children's author came to visit the school I used to teach at. She made the children really keen on writing and they wrote so lovely stories as a result of meeting the author. It would be amazing to be a popular author and have many people so keen on reading my books.

Oh I think that that was great, the author giving the children the inspiration to write! I think that it would be that much more rewarding to touch people in that manner, and make them want to write! Or even read!
I appreciate your response, have a wonderful day!

That is very true that I would want a signed copy of the book, but I am also a very shy person so therefore I think that would be one of my reasons for not wanting to do booksignings (except locally)!
Have a great day!

I am glad that you enjoy meeting new people and would have a blast as you have said. I am just not that social of a person myself, so therefore that is a reason why I wouldn't! lol! I appreciate the response, lol and if I am coming off rude I don't mean to!

This is a really good discussion baby and I am sure that different people have different opinions when it comes to being an author and when it comes to doing book signing tours,I am sure that there are some people who would not do a book signing tour because they would just feel like they do not owe it to their readers, while I am sure that there are people who would do a book signing tour to thank their readers for buying and reading their book, because you can not get famous without your fans, and if I was asked to do a book signing tour I would probably say no,not because I do not want to see my fans, but because I do not like traveling, and I refuse to fly on a plane, and if it meant my career failing then I would say say goodbye to my fame, like you I would probably do local signings of my book to anyone who wanted to come see me and ask me to sign it,and I like your idea of letting people go to your website and request your signature on a book,I love you with all my heart and soul, have a great day, good luck with all your mylotting goals, and Happy Posting.

In my opinion,it depends.when I am in good mood I will hava a travel to sign the book after all it is a good chance to communicate with readers. Maybe I can get good spirits and information from them, which will give my creation great help!
However if i am in low spirit, I also refuse to do that. Sometimes it is good way to stay one place peacefully and write things as one likes. The best choince is to do whatvere you like, I don't force me to do my own dislikes. Good luck to you!

I am glad that you would do it if you were in a good mood, but not if you were in a bad mood. I think that that is great though, and very truthful. I would not want to meet my fans in a bad mood at all! Have a wonderful day to you and good luck to you as well!
