Mac OS vs Linux vs Windows

As we know, between 3 popular Operating System only Linux which can be obtained free without any cost, but most people said that Windows is most friendly, and some other said that Mac OS is the best according to it's interface, but we must pay to get Windows or Mac OS... So what you prefer between Mac OS, Linux, and Windows?

As far as Interface MAC OS is very good even never Windows OS has good User Interface. If price is your concern and just some documenting and Internet surfing is your activity then you can go for Linux Ubuntu.
It is freely available.
But most people are using Windows OS.
It is because most of the Softwares are compatible only with Windows OS.
As I am programming student I would prefer Windows XP over MAC and Linux.
