Would you like to have a place to be able to change the color of your text here at Mylot besides the profile page? I think it would be neat to be able to write in other colors besides black even if it was a limited color choice. So who is with me on wanting to add color to Mylot? Do you think this will ever happen? Or do you feel it should stay the same and that color only complicates things? If you were able to choose a color which color would you choose for the text? I like hot pink or orange I think yellow is cool but way to hard to be able to see and read properly.

I think, blue, brown, dark green, or dark purple would be good colors for text.
I do not ever see them changing the color for the font.

you are very welcome.

I love hot pink and fushia as well as purple and turquoise. It would be wonderful to maybe emphasize certain phrases. And the idea of having the text box with a different color other then this boring white would be great. As long as there is enough contrast in them. And yes yellow would not show up on white that well.

I just love pink and fushia and purple. Say maybe we can request that they change the preview and post comment color as well. Maybe how about dark turquoise or maybe burgundy? Can't stand orange.

Thanks for responding to my discussion, I appreciate it alot. If they did it would be best to stick to darker colors and the ones that aren't neon or bright. Maybe a burnt orange, maroon, dark blue, hunter green, plum purple..because others would definitely cause eye strain. Again thanks.

Personally I'm glad this isn't an option to be honest. I have these visions of seeing colour after colour throughout each and every discussion and it would only be a matter of time before I became totally furstrated by it. Maybe having a choice of a select number of different fonts would be a nice addition, but not colours!

Yeah it would probably. I can see your point. Sometimes certain colors also give me migraine's be my luck that would be the colors everyone would choose.

For me it is the pastels, bright colored or neon colored that give me headaches trying to read it. So maybe it is a really bad idea after all..

Hi mtdewgurl,
Wow that would be pretty neat.
Then we will all become colorful LOL.
Hang on tight, myLot likes to release features we want when we have already given up (like those emoticons) so it is possible they will come when you finally have decided to give up, ha!

That would be awesome though..I would definitely love the idea. we need some color..color can perk people up unless it is a color they hate..lol Thanks for the response I appreciate your post to my discussion. cheers to being colorful.

I think that's an excellent idea, of course only a few colors would be good because not all of them will work with white to well.

I don't know. I guess dark colors would be okay. I've been on some discussion boards where all colors were allowed and it was so hard to read posts with certain colors. Same goes for if we use all caps, bold, or italics. Reading posts like these can really make my head hurt.

Okay well then it would need to be only a few choice colors that would be seen good and are dark enough to see clearly and not cause eye strain. I know what you mean about the other discussion boards been on a few myself that I had problems reading. Especially the light colors like yellows.

Yes that would be a neat idea. Some sites you can do that. And on yahoo mail its called stationery. You just have to have the email set to rich text. Would give mylot a bit of flare!

I think that would really be nice to express more of ourselves. If we would be allowed to do that i think the site would look less formal and i think it would also be possible that i would make it a little slower than usual to load. Well, thats what i think. But i think it would also be nice and fun doing so.

Thanks for your response I appreciate it alot and I guess all we can do is set out the idea and see what they think of it. If they like it maybe they will use the colored texting.

Yes, that would be nice if myLot would allow it. I think the darker colors will work. It will not blind a persons eyes. These colors will fit just right on the screen. Hot pink and yellow will make it hard to see with some people, I agree with you. That would be nice if we had extra other colors that we could use here. I think that this would be a very good idea!

I am now just getting this year the yellow kitchen I have wanted for 18 years...so maybe in a few years I need to try the orange again..Thanks for the response I appreciate it alot.

I'm not even sure that I will use emoicons when they are available to me! I think it may detract from the discussions here. Mylot seems like a pretty clean place to focus on our topics and such right now. I'm not sure if I could bare it if color that that were added. Plus, we probably would see the people who can't spell and use horrible grammer being the ones to use it the most, and it would just make their mistakes blair even louder out to us. I'm not talking about the occasional mistake people. I do that too, but the ones that seem like they are just typing a string of text just to have something to say... maybe they are hoping if they press enough keys they will get paid for it even if it is not meaningful at all! LoL!

Thank you for your response it is appreciated. I like to use the smiley's, I don't however use them all the time. just when it is fun to make a point or statement with them. Mylot is a great place so we probably won't be seeing any changes anytime soon.. as they say if it ain't broke, why try to fox it..

Well that would be a good idea about the rating thing that they have to have a certain rating to be able to use it and also maybe points like it is about the copy and paste..You bring up some good reasons of not having colored texting.thanks for the response.

I am a long way from getting to use smilies, so I don't know how I will react to getting to use them! Haha, who knows, maybe I will go crazy! Haha. I agree that mylot is a pretty good place as it is... but who knows, they might see your post and say 'what a good idea! But, if they did it would be better if you had to get a certain rating before you got to use it, that way the stupid people that don't really try to do a good job don't really get to that point. Haha. I'm not trying to down anyone really by that comment, it's just I'm getting a little annoyed by some posts I've seen around.

Maybe one of these days a color option will be added. When I first joined myLot, there was no option for bold, italics or emoticons. Now we have them! Color is a tricky thing. I've seen some profile pages with color combinations that are impossible for me to read (purple/red for example). I have to highlight the text if I'm interested in finding out what the person has posted.

I acutally made a mistake on my profile and I have to do that to see anything I need to change it..I should do that now..thanks for reminding me..Well, we would still have a white background to which to write..but just the colors would be a extra. Thanks for the response it is appreciated..

Thanks for your opinion is is appreciated. I have found that some colors do give me a headache and find them to bright to read but maybe we can get duller darker colors instead of the bright ones thanks.

it would be nice if we would be able to change font colors here. Maybe a chosen few colors would be enough.. because if all colors would be available. maybe some text wouldn't be readable xD but.. if we were able to change the font colors.. it would be cool :)
