What do you do for fun?

Recently I have noticed that the time I used to have on my hands to spend the way I wish to have reduced significantly. There seldom is a period of hour or so when I am looking for something to do, as I am too preoccupied these day. But still there is nothing that I do for amusement. At times I wish there were activities that I can follow for a half an hour or so that can revive me.
What do you do for fun when you are busy?

I haven't given that any thought in quite a while. I have gotten into such a habit of just watching television every evening that any leisure time I might have is eaten up by that. Now of course I spend quite a bit of time here on mylot conversing with the friends I have made so I guess that is another activity I do for fun. For a while there were several of my daughters friends that would come over and we would get a card game started but that seems to have fizzled out as everyone has gone on to other activities. So I guess the best answer I can give right now is what is fun?

When my days are busy like that, every moment I can sneak to do something fun or relaxing is very restorative. I sometimes read, a story that's funny and makes me laugh. Other times I check email, or play online games.
Probably the most important thing is to find something to do that takes your mind off of your work during your short breaks. Kind of like a mini-vacation for your brain. Doing that enables you to jump back into the work (or studying) with renewed energy.

We all lead hectic, stressful lifes, so we all need time for fun, otherwise life can get so dull and drab, it's moderation isn't it. I always find time for the gym, I know it takes up a couple of hours, but it's my way of getting rid of built up stress, anger, frustration and having fun, yes I do enjoy my time training, I have my Ipod on and it's just me and the cross-trainer, or bike, I feel so much better afterwards and ready to tackle anything. When I am very busy I like to sneak it some time to read my book.

Hi Coolmailraj, Sometimes when I get too busy and need to step away and get some fun time I will either get in the car to visit a friend and go out for coffee. Many times I will even just go for a scenic ride and then wall around a lake or on a path in the woods. If I have more than an hour maybe go bowling, see a movie or go on a picnic. If I have to stay at home to have the fun, I will either find a fun game ion the internet to play like poker or Mah Jong or put in a game to play. You should always take the time to enjoy whatever you can when you can, life is too short to be too busy for the fun things in life.

I have a small garden which I enjoy tending. Not only do the greens relax my eyes but it's fulfilling how the plants bloom due to how they are cared fo. I gain insights just watching the different plants, their varied needs and care requirements.
Even with limited space you may have some potted plants which you may be able to tend. You can ask which plants are not difficult to care for. You really don't need that much time to take care of them, you can easily squeeze in even with limited free time in your hands.

Well, you're spending time on myLot and I'm sure you're doing other things that you aren't aware of that take up some of your tine but you aren't thinking of them as fun. I spend a few hours a week playing word and puzzle games on the computer to destress and also to give my brain a little exercise. I wouldn't call this fun, but it does entertain me. I watch tv and movies a few hours which also entertain me. I have limited my going out to socialize because there are things I need to get done but I can be online or do other stuff in between. I have to actually make myself take breaks in between all the being busy so I don't get burned out.

I do a lot of things for fun. I love reading, writing, singing, dancing, watching movies, playing with my cats, going to Barnes & Noble, going to 4 Color Fantasies Comic Book Store in Rancho Cucamonga,CA, going to unique places (I live in California, not that hard to do), going to Comic Book and Science Fiction Conventions, exercising, and making collages. I do my best to have as much fun as possible.

My husband and I go to one of the local casinos and play Keno. Anything that needs to be done at home can wait. We both like time away from home and make sure we take the time to get away and relax. We also enjoy a relaxing dinner either before we play or after we are finished. This time of the year my husband works 6 days a week and very long hours.

Hi coolmailraj,
after I've done all my housework, I start on my computer, that is my fun, maybe I am boring but as I am on my own most of the day I like to spend my time on my computer as I will have to stop in the evening to start cooking for dinner for my husband, so what is fun?

For me fun can't be being on computer as I do spend all time working in front of it already.
Fun can be something you enjoy an while following that activity you tend to forget something that was putting some kind of mental block or pressure on you. Thanks for your response.
