I'm asking people out there why do womens periods get into sync when thay are in close proximatey. For example, families, mother doughters often have them at the same time, also a group of girls sharing a house at university often have their periods at the same time of the month. Answer me why?

I think it's a biological phenomenon - it happens in the workplace too. I've heard that who starts first is determined by perceived rank. Very interesting.

I read something about this recently and I'm trying to remember what it said. It was very interesting and it's to do with smell. There's a hormone that we're not consciously aware of, but we smell it and it puts us all in sync. It's referred to as a "scent cue".
