Almost everyone, when in school, had that one teacher that really got into your head- really got you motivated. The one that really believed in you and tried their best to get you to keep going and knew you could reach your potential if you just gave that extra little bit of effort
Mine was Mrs. Best. I know.. even her name says it. She really was the best though. She pushed me to work my hardest and because of her influence, i started caring about school again. She's an amazing teacher.
Who was that teacher for you? How did she help, influence, or inspire you?

My most influential teacher was Dixie Moore, in 7th grade. She was our English teacher, but so much more. She would stay after class just to talk about whatever you wanted to talk about. Friends, boyfriends, family ... however long you needed her, she was there for you. I remember one day, after class I had stayed with a friend to chat, and a 20 something year old man came into the room. I remember looking at him, thinking, what the heck is he doing here? And he said, Mrs Moore, can I talk to you about something? He was one of her old students from probably 10 years ago. That happened all the time. She touched so many people's lives it was unbelievable.

We definately need more teachers like you down here in california! Sometimes students feel teachers are just in for the easy hours because they dont show a true interest in what we need. Thank you for being so attentive to your students and showing them you care:]

I had a teacher Mr.P that was awsome in Math. I had him for 2 yrs and he made everything seem so easy and he was able to get across the concepts like no other teacher had been able to.
However then when I moved up to my Jr yr i did ok. But then my Sr yr i took a math class that was not required just to see if I could do it and i was soooo utterly confused the more help I got from the math lab & my regular teacher the more confused i got. So i went to MrP who was on his 4th yr teaching and i think he had changed alot or something cause he totally snubed me when i asked for him to help explain it to me. He was Mr outgoing and a great teacher but by my senior yr I think the kids had probably pulled enough BS on him that he wasn't as easy going as when i had him. But he was the only one who could explain it in a manner that was easy for me to catch on. Oh well.

well and the sad thing is teenagers can be disrespectful and take advantage of a rookie teacher so easily... i'm sure at first they laugh it off then as time goes buy is wears into their sprit.

Yeah, that's the bad thing about great teachers. A lot of times when they show they are so nice, students have the tendency of taking advantage of them. Very sad, and turns into such a waste. It just comes to show how ingrateful people can be. They dont appreciate the good teachers until they are gone. :/

Mine was Mr. Reeve. He was my English teacher for two or three years. Everything I wrote came back covered in red ink, from the biggest spelling mistake to the tiniest grammatical error. He understood that I loved writing and - even though he thought my descriptive work was boring and my stories were morbid - he did his best to make sure I wrote properly. Really nice guy, too.
Special mention to my French teacher, Mr. Bull, who found me a couple of weeks' work once, years after I finished school - the job was where I met my partner (over sixteen years ago)!!

I'd have to say that I have had two influential teachers. One of them was one of my high school history. He was a really amazing history teacher. I got a lot more interested in history, thanks to this teacher. I don't think that there was one student, who had any thing negative to say against him.
In a pre-university program that I did, there was one of my English teachers, who also influenced me. This class was an English/Drama course, and she was a playwright, as well as being a teacher. I really enjoyed her course. If I ever had the opportunity to take another of her classes, I wouldn't hesitate to take it.
I can easily say that I learned a lot from these two teachers. They really influenced me.

Those sound like good teachers! The history one reminds me that in junior high i had Mr. Decker, also an amazing teacher! He was soo funny, and i can STILL remember some of the jokes he told. Its funny because we later found out that he told the same jokes to every class.. pretending they just came up. It shows that he really took that extra effort to help his students remember. I'll never forget who invented the cotton gin.. he used to sing "Eli Whitney and the cotton gin!" in a wierd annoying country sounding voice while pretending to play the banjo or soemthign.. lol sooo funny! thanks for the response. happy mylotting!!

Hey there! Yeah, her name says it all.lol. Well, I would be my business policy professor. He always believe in me. In my ability and intellect. That's why whenever we have a group study he assigns me to the group leader and the one to head the debate or defense against other groups. And I'm happy to say that my group did well. I always get excited with his class. There's a lot of things I could learn from him from his experience to his work. Have a nice day. Happy posting!!

My best teacher was Mrs. Ivich. She was my latin teacher in high school and I looked up to her quite a bit. I went on a couple trips with her for Latin Conventions and even a trip to Italy. She pushed me to make me be the best I could be and encouraged me to be a Latin teacher. I almost did, and now I wish I had, but she was always there to help me with things. I really miss her since I have come to college.
