I have a few friends that are criminal minded. They are selfish and think about themselves and also try to undermine or betray you when you get ahead of them in a competitive environment. I personally brush them off and keep them at bay because it is not nice to keep backstabbers near. I trust people who are genuine and I would be unselfish towards them and help them in whichever way I can. Have a great day!

In your sense, das_geth, of the "criminal mind", I find most of my friends having one. Well, we all have our capabilities to survive and they are using me in their advantage... to survive. I am aware of that. But, naturally, friends are adversarial so my relationship with them is mutual. We help each other and use each other. They are aware of that too. But, despite the mutual relationship of giving and taking, all along, we are attached to each other. We care.
But, in some extreme cases, when you are only giving instead of taking because there is nothing to take, you'll realize that you do not want this kind of friendship anymore. If you're masochistic, you'll stay. If you're not, you'll ruin your "friend's" life and move on. Who needs him anyway?
