I am using my CRT monitor and thinking of LCD now. I think a second hand LCD would do it good for me because I have heard that LCD seldome give problems so, there would be no problem for me with the old one too!
What do you use LCD or CRT? if CRT then are you thinking of changing it with new LCD?

Try to get an LCD, my friend. It's so much better than the CRT I used to have or the one I have at work. I've had it for about four years with no problems of any kind.

I have it on a shelf above the computer. I've never had a problem with the images being blurred by looking at it from another direction. I believe that has something to do with the frame. I really enjoy it! Mine is from HP.

Four years! Then you are quite an experienced person to ask any question.
How do you use your LCD? Did you pluged into the wall or use it with the stand on your table?
Do you need a special sitting place from where you can get a better view at LCD(I have heard that if not positioned well, we can't see thing properly on LCD)?
Answers would be appriciated.

I have changed my CRT to an LCD several years ago. I need to spend a long time just sitting front of computer so I need a monitor of good quality that has less harm to my eyes. LCD does much better in protecting your eyes compared to CRT.
I suggest you buy a new LCD if you want to use it for some years 'cause it's not so expensive as before.

Hi sanuanu, I used old CRT monitors for more than 10 years. I had shifted the CRT to the LCD two years back after the HP CRT monitor I had used for 6 years or so couldn’t function anymore. It’s a 19 inches Dell LCD. I like it very much as it is light and handy, and unlike the old one which fit with a huge and heavy monitor at its back part.
Nowadays I could push my computer wheeled desk easily and conveniently to whatever place I wish, for it is very much lighter after using the LCD screen. I like surfing net sitting in front of the window during day time whereas after having dinner I like to do mylot posting in front of the tv for I like watching my favorite tv series at the same time
Happy posting and take care.

That's interesting, posting your mylot post and at the same time watching your TV.
How do you manage to do two works at the same time? Don't your mind get diverted and instead or responding to a post, you write your favourite daily soap's story?
It could happen. LOL

Hey there! I use CRT monitor too. It's a 17 inch flat screen monitor. I would love to buy LCD monitor because it's not that harsh to your eyes compared to CRT monitors. They are slick and stylish, very lightweight and eat up small space. I would love to buy a 22 inch LCD monitor. I think I'll have to save money for that.lol Have a nice day. Happy posting!!

I had changed my monitor from CRT to LCD a year back. I bought LG's 17" LCD monitor. Even my CRT is also working fine from the last 5 years. It doesn't gave any problem till now.

I have both a CRT and an LCD. The one I have the problem with is the LCD. It has some screen burn on it. I was told that new LCD monitors are not supposed to suffer this problem. I did post a discussion here on myLot to see if anyone had a fix for the screen burn on an LCD but no one got back to me.

I love my LCD monitor.
I was really really lucky actually. On the way to work one day I was passing through a local suburb and some people were moving home.
I guess just to make the move easier, they were piling things on the footpath that they didn't want to take with them, and they put a "free" sign on them.
They put out an NEC LCD monitor and at first I thought it might have been broken. It was missing it's power cable, but I picked it up and took it home anyways.
I went to an electronics store and picked up a cable for $3 and then tested the monitor, and what do you know? It worked perfectly.
Now, 6 months on I haven't had an ounce of trouble with it. :)

Really, that was the luckiest day of your life. The good thing about it that you decided it in a flash that you want that monitor with you because most of the time people won't go for such things even if it is given for free.
Congrats on getting LCD screen for free.
