Guys and gals, what are the things that you usually do whenever you encounter
stress/depression?For me there are lots of things that I usually think or do in order for me to manage my
stress.. Like what is stated in the lyrics of "My Favorite Things" - When the dog bites,
when the bee stings, when I am feeling sad.. I simply remember my favorite things and then
I don't feel so bad..
First, I eat a lot..specially chocolates..then I watch my favorite TV shows or movie perhaps.
I buy the coolest thing or anything that I wanted most..Finally, getting in touch
with my friends...
How about you?

Hi NokiaN70...Usually when I am feeling stressed, I have to do something to take my mind off the situation and concentrate on something else. A good shopping trip helps. Probably just more so the walking around. Getting on the internet and playing games or talking here on mylot helps a lot. I would say getting on the computer is probably what I do most. I tend to blank out everything around me when im on here..I try not to resort to eating, because usually afterwards you feel like crap for doing it.
Another escape for me is to swim. I love the water and the freedom it makes you feel. Its very relaxing and refreshing. Definately, if I had an indoor pool, that would be the answer!
I think I should have been born a dolphin!

I center on my breathing, and you are doing this if you sing, in order to sing you must control your breath. I try to quite my mind, because that is where the stress comes from. no matter what is happening around you it's how you react that allows the stress. Good question

I look for different ways to relax. Sometimes it's watching tv or movies; sometimes it's listening to music or spending time outdoors. Relaxing with friends is good.
Depression is another matter. I look for the source and then it dissipates once
I have awareness of the situation.
