SNOW! The timing of this snow lacked about 12 days being on the same day as the 1993 snow in which we were snowed in for a week! But this snow also is nothing like that snow. It's just pretty. The weatherman said we could probably get 2 inches, but we haven't received that much, although it's still snowing a light snow and will continue until around 11AM. What I really call a good snow is one in which everything including the road is covered over and we can't do anything. A few cars have gone down the road, but not many people are getting out. Our church was called off since people come from different places and many roads are dangerous since it is very cold and there may be ice on the bridges. There is a big bridge between me and church and I had already decided not to chance it. Did any of you get snow during the night hours? I heard one person talking about them getting lots of snow when I was out on the Internet early this morning around 2AM. The blizzard didn't get down this far although I was hoping it would. The picture of the snow is in the corner of our backyard near our pasture.

Oh, my goodness! My cold natured self couldn't stand that! You should have seen me at the ball game other night. When the sun went down, I was freezing and it was about 50 degrees, but the wind was blowing very hard. I had on a wool jacket and took a longer warm coat with me and had to send my husband to the car to get that. I had his warm coat over my knees until he came and got it. My daughter went to her car at half time and got me a wrap! My grandson was sitting beside me with shorts and a short sleeve on. Of course, he had 2 jackets in the car but said he wasn't cold. Kids!

The sun came out about an hour ago and it is all gone. It has warmed up to 42, although it feels 34. It was only supposed to go to 39 today. We don't have any more in the forecast. It will be up to 72 by Friday! Crazy weather!

The weatherman is often wrong! We figured he'd be wrong on this one, too, until we looked at the weather map. But we didn't get as much as the map looked like we would. The sun is still shining here, too, but it's very windy and cold. But the snow was pretty while it lasted.

In this part of Arkansas, North-Central, we only got about 1 inch. This is one inch too much! Dang, maybe we are having globull warming!

Judging from what is on the birdfeeders, we got probably an inch or a little better. But the sun is out now, so it won't last too long. It had rained all day Friday and misted all day yesterday, so the ground was so wet, where there was no grass, it didn't even lay. But the woods and pastures are beautiful! It's 33 here now, and feels 23. The wind will cut you to pieces! I stepped out the front door and didn't even get on the porch and I felt the wind!

I woke up to the same thing and we have another storm coming tomorrow....only worse. Right now it's not too bad. It's more like a dusting but tonight we are in for a huge snowstorm and they are saying at least a foot!

Snow on March 1, 2009 - This picture is taken from the sidewalk in the front yard.
Looking at the weather map, we should be getting more than we have received. But it will be moving out and it doesn't look like there will be anymore today. It's 32 degrees and supposed to get about 39 today. Feels like 22, at the moment! I just went to the front porch and opened the door and the wind will knock you down. Looking to the north, it really looks white! My husband took this picture earlier this morning.

We keep getting a big snow where we get a few feet all in a matter of a few days, then a few weeks later, we get a big melt. It's been really weird. So far, I think we've gotten around 15 feet of snow, but you wouldn't know it because we keep losing it. It's happened 3 times now. Personally, I would prefer if some stayed, as it serves to insulate the house from the winds. We have open farmland all around us, so when the wind picks up, boy is it cold. It seems to just blow right through the house. I keep saying it is like living in Saskatchewan here....Brrrrrrrrrrr. She's a cold one today, again. We are around minus 23 C. I keep having to bring lambs that are born inside to warm them up as the mommas can't keep up to dry them off fast enough. Had quintuplets born yesterday. WOW!

Hi Barb42 We don't get much snow in the UK but we had some about 3 weeks ago now which is the first time in about 10 years so I think we have had our lot for this year and probably for the next 10 years!

You probably have about as much as we do down here in the South of the US. We get dustings nearly every year. But they are gone about as fast as they come.
