Hi friends, i have finally bought a laptop, but a secnd hand just for my research works and for my courseworks. It is a Acer travel mate 340T, pentium 3, hard disk 6gb, ram memory 192mb. I found it on a website and thought that i would be able to work with it. The laptop is ok for my needs, but the main problem is that the battery does not charge. I put it on charge but in vain. I had done some research works and found an article about putting a battery in the freezer for 13 hours. I did it but i don't see any improvement in the battery. It does not charge. Was that article true or false? Or i should have keep the battery for at least two days in the freezer? Have anyone ever try this method? What was the result?

2nd hand laptops or what they call refurbs may be good, but your out of luck if you get this battery you have. Even manufacturers does not cover the battery for warranty.

I have not try your method before, therefore, can't tell you that the method is true or not. Is there any program in your laptop that manage the battery? you may totally discharge the battery with this program and start the charge process again, it may help to improve the performance of the battery, if it doesn't work, I think the battery is useless and you have to buy another one.

I don;t know the details about laptop but the second hand materials are waste because you can purchase the same product by new for just spending some money! or you must research before bye! How much that laptop?

I paid it around $65, well i check it out though the battery was not good i bought it as i can still take it to work. And do my research when in lunch time. And the problem is that i can't afford buying a new laptop as i have loans, have many expenses every month.

Yes! it is true that putting a battery into the freezer will make them last longer but it depends on what kind of battery that ur laptop using... I suggest not to try any science-fiction thing instead buy a new battery that is compatible with your Acer 340T. n__n..

Thanks, and i have tried the method, but in vain. I left if for 13 hours in the freezer, and let it cooled to room temperature, and then charge it. It did not work, still the same. Think i will buy a new battery next month.
