Do you cut coupons?

I started to cut coupons out of the Sunday paper. I find that the local grocery stores put the items in the coupons on sale. I think I paid 1 cent for shampoo once. Do you cut coupons and try to save money this way?

Yes, I use coupons and I try to use them in stores that double them when possible. I only cut out the ones for products that my family uses and sometimes I end up with more coupons than I can use before the expiration date.
I have actually had a few times when the coupon was more that the price of the item; some stores will credit me for the full coupon price; but, others limit it to the actual price of the item. So, it is still free.
I usually only save a few dollars each week using coupons; but, it does add up and it let's me buy a little more than I would have been able to buy without the coupons.
There are also coupon books that come in the mail each month that help me save on things like oil changes, restaurants, and other services in our area. Those coupons can really add up.

I have cut coupons before. I just don't always use them. Coupons are a great way to save some money as far as groceries are concerned. There are some places online that you can get coupons too...whether they're printed, or ones that you have to send for.

No I don't cut coupons because I begin most of my shopping at the $1 store and most coupons can't compare with those savings. I have found great deals at some dollar stores - even low-cost name brands! And even if they're not name brand I really don't care because some of those offbrand products are just as good. Coupon cutting is time consuming so I find my method more suited for me. Don't get me wrong if I happen to come across a great money-saving coupon that I just can't resist - I will definitely use it, but I don't go out of my way to seek them out.

I just don't find ones for things I buy anymore. I watched a show last night and the woman had a ton of coupons.. to the point she bought $80 for only $10.01... where'd she get those coupons? I go through the sunday paper and cut 4-5 on things I use.. the rest is stuff I have no use for. I get online ones..again for things I use, but often even with the coupon.. another brand is cheaper. So.. used to do good with them when I had kids at home and had more food, but now...I still use them.. just wish I could find more for things I use and can stock up on.

Yes I do. At one time I used to keep a big container full of all kinds of coupons...I would swap with friends for things they would use and I wouldnt. A coupon exchange is great for saving money. If you had a large family, it would be great to start a coupon savings jar. A fair bit of money can be saved.

wow one cent for shampoo that is marvelous, I cut coupons too, but it is hard because I can't go to all the stores I have no car and if I am going to pay close to 6.00 for the bus then it is really not worth it.

Well, I don't personally cut out coupons, but my wife does. Quite often I find a little pile of coupons that she has put ready to take to the stores with her. I think this is a good practice and some of my family tend to laugh at us. But my take on this is, if you would take out coins from your pocket and throw them away, then you won't bother cutting out coupons. Seeing that most people wouldn't throw coins away, then save the coupons - it's surprising how those coins will mount up. . Derek

YES I DO ~ and never missed for this kind of saving money activity. Not only on newspaper, to all pamphlets received in my letter box embedded coupons. Like Domino Pizza. That is why I choose ESSO(EXXON) card to refuel my car, for every 1,000 points I can redeem cash $15 or equivalent to $15 of petrol. Having said, all items related to money saving I am happy and very glad to participate.

I use to do this and then there was a big to do about counterfeit coupons so nobody was honoring any of them. I haven't gotten back in the habit.

I do now. My aunt does it all the time, she saves quite a bit some months.

I don't personally because we don't get the paper that has them here, but my mother does at her place and she holds on to any that I may be able to use or ones she doesn't use so I can go threw them! I have saved a lot of money recently using them, especially when I get lucky and the item is on sale at the store too! Last time I went I saved almost $50.00 buying sale items & using coupons. How do you beat this?

I often cut coupons too -- I've recently started on a kick where if I know I'm going grocery shopping after work, I'll make sure to print some coupons offline for items I need to get, that way the coupon is still fresh in my mind while shopping and I don't forget to use it! I discovered the other day that my local grocer is doubling manufacturer's coupons now, too, so it's extra incentive to make sure I remember to clip before I shop!
